These two quotes sum this up nicely, I think. Although I would be embarrassed by it if an LSU coach did it. Petrino has had a few years to learn his lesson that the cameras are following him. If this meant anything to him, he would have straightened up his act. A lot of LSU fans were disgusted with the way WVU's coach Holgerson acted on the sidelines during their game vs. LSU. He's new to being in the spotlight and he will either learn that the cameras are on him and will straighten up or he won't. As long as the coaches can confine this type of behavior to 4 quarters every Saturday and can conduct themselves reasonably well in public outside of that, it is not that big of a deal to me.
He threw deep on Auburn with the game well in hand. Essentially same situation he got pizzed about when Les did it and yes, it is why. You speak about other fan bases' opinions about your coach. How do YOU feel about how BP (aka Big Pussy) left the Falcons without facing his team, no meeting, not looking anyone in the eye. He didn't even speak. He just put notes in their lockers and left a sinking ship. Defend that.
bp does have issues, been this way for years. Tigernation's opinion? This is the same opinion of most that come in contact with him, not just the LSU fans. Some of the quotes: Bobby Petrino is getting absolutely KILLED I have NEVER heard ahtletes and professionals talk about one of their own like this. And these are the guys that agreed to be quoted: Coward. Quitter. Hypocrite. And those were some of the nicer things the Atlanta Falcons had to say about their former coach on Wednesday. "I feel like I've been sleeping with the enemy," safety Lawyer Milloy moaned. "It got to the point where guys really didn't care if he left or not," running back Warrick Dunn said. "But the way he decided to leave, to me, was just not right." "The best way to describe the way we feel," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said, "is betrayed." "This league is not for everybody," Milloy said. "This league is for real men. I think he realized he didn't belong here." "We're not college kids," said Dunn, a 32-year-old, 11-year veteran. "I'm a professional, grown man. Look at me eye to eye. Talk to me. But Bobby wasn't like that." Dunn said Petrino's rules ranged from a ban on televisions in the locker room at the team's training complex to frowning on any loud talking at team dinners when the Falcons were on the road. "It got to the point where I never went down to team dinners to eat because I was not going to sit there in silence," Dunn said. "It's a joke. You tell kindergartners things like that." A couple of weeks later, tight end Algie Crumpler complained about Petrino's offense and said the veterans felt they were being phased out. Those concerns came to a head when 35-year-old Grady Jackson, one of the team's most effective interior linemen, was surprisingly cut during the bye week. "It just shows his true color, like a coward with a yellow stripe down his back," said Jackson, who now plays with the Jacksonville Jaguars. "He snuck out in the middle of the night like the Baltimore Colts did," said Kansas City Chiefs running back Kolby Smith, who played for Petrino at Louisville. All Petrino left on his way out the door was his goodbye letter. Milloy had a copy of it taped above his locker, with a red "X" through Petrino's words and the player's own assessment written in: "Coward." Center Todd McClure didn't even bother keeping his copy. "I think it's already in the trash," he said bitterly. Defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the Falcons' first-round pick from Arkansas, was asked what he would tell his alma mater about its new coach. "One word: Disloyal," Anderson replied.
Didn't know you and Bobby were that tight. He told you that? Obviously could've been handled better. Watching his coach's show its evident that he's strictly a Xs and Os kinda guy and not much of a people person. Somewhat of a dork. But I believe in giving people second chances and the guy has been nothing but class since arriving in NW Ark. That's what I have to go by and that's what I'm hanging my hat on. I judge people based on what I personally experience, I can't just go by what 'he or she' said. Maybe one day he will cancel the razorback football program and burn the stadium down. Then everyone can gloat about how right they were, and I'll leap onto the hate BP bandwagon.
:geaux: Just curious, but several folks have mentioned how he left the Falcons and yet you've not addressed that at all. Guess that means you thought it was OK how he just crapped all over his team, players & the Falcon organization? If that situation didn't demonstrate a lack of spine or a sack, I don't know what would. :dis: Not to mention just plain classless. Seriously, was how he handled that OK with you? BP doesn't know what the word "class" even means. And just to refresh your memory on "running up the score", let's look at some results from R-Kansas's 2011 season: R-Kansas - 51 Missouri St. - 7 R-Kansas - 52 New Mexico St. - 3 R-Kansas - 38 Auburn - 14 R-Kansas - 49 Tennessee - 7 R-Kansas - 44 Miss. St. - 17 Guess it was OK with you for ole BP to lay the wood to those teams huh? Believe he was still throwing late in both the Auburn & Tennessee games. And I'm sure Missouri St. & New Mexico St. both enjoyed BP pullin' his foot off the gas in their games. :rolleye33: He did the same stuff at Louisville too. Look it up, don't take my word for it. Bottom line, he can give it out pretty good but he can't take get his own ass handed to him. No class & a sore loser. Great combo in a college football coach and a good fit for y'all. Hope he's up there for a long time. Or least until he puts it to R-Kansas like he did Atlanta. Have a great day. :milesmic: :LSU231:
Sigh. Read last post. LSU 49 Northwestern State 3 LSU 35 Kentucky 7 LSU 38 Tennessee 7 LSU 45 Auburn 10 LSU 42 Western Kent 9 I don't see your point. I never said anything about running up the score in games. Go back and read what the thread is about.
:geaux: Nobody at LSU is talkin' about takin' an azz whuppin' or havin' the score run up on them. BP and the media were. And none of the coaches on the games you listed called CLM an MF'r. BP did that. CLM even took a knee on the 1 yd line with 1st & goal against Old Piss with 5 mins left when he could have easily scored again. Doing something like that would NEVER have entered BP's classless mind. And yes, he did shyt on the Falcons. Go back & read the thread yourself and refresh your memory. And again, have a great day. :milesmic: :LSU231:
B. P. was agrivated because nothing worked. Miles kept running the ball down his throat and he was helpless to do anything about it. He was frustrated. He was mad because he was out coached. He was heartbroken because the hogs were beaten and not going to a bcs bowl. He had his little feelings hurt. He was shamed by the hat. All he could do is curse because nothing else worked. If he couldve he wouldve taken his little ball and went home.
