Give your reason on why you said yes or no. Remember I'm not asking should LSU move, I'm asking should they have a conversation to see what the Big 12 would offer.
Yes, but not because leaving is an actual possibility. You do it to let the dipshits in Birmingham know that the second biggest brand in the league has options. Actually leaving to go to the Big 12 would be about as smart as Tulane and Tech leaving for the wealth of independence.
I voted no. I don't think talking to a failing conference does anything to help LSU in anyway. Birmingham wouldn't give a shit, and making such a threat/move could force LSU into making a very bad decision. Besides it'd be seen for what it is, an empty threat. The SEC knows LSU ain't going anywhere. Want to kill recruiting and winning, move LSU out of the SEC. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence until you get there and find out it isn't. The best way to fight these kinds of issues is to build LSU back into the powerful beast it was from '03-'07 and '11. Winning cures all ills. Why do you suppose Bama is always getting preferential treatment? Because they win, year in and year out they're the SEC's best shot at keeping the SEC dominance in CFB.
YES. If I'm the Big 12, I'm calling Joe Alleva ASAP. And that's a call Joe Alleva should take. This isn't about "just football" and our fertile recruiting grounds, and Tiger Stadium and our $100+ mill revenue. If you include our powerhouse baseball program, Alex Box Stadium and our various other nationally ranked athletic programs, the Big 12 would be crazy NOT to want us. In fact, there's no telling what the Big 12 would offer LSU to join its conference.... Which gives LSU leverage. The SEC is a GREAT football conference and one of the best baseball conferences. Women's BBall is up there too, but the SEC home office is in Birmingham and often times we get the impression that there's Alabama bias. There's definitely Texas-Oklahoma bias in the Big 12, but again.... just having the conversations should make folks in Birmingham wake up.....
No. LSU is a charter member of the SEC family. We are as SEC as anybody. A better course would be to refuse to comply with any order that violates current SEC bylaws (e.g. to force us to cancel a home game and play in Florida, instead) and bring it to court where we would surely prevail.
No, and would basically parrot @GregLSU 's points. The best thing we could do to burst the SEC office's bubble would be to find a coach who can consistently knock Bama off the throne, or at least make them share it.
lol why in the world would lsu want to leave the best conference to go to a dumpster fire? i feel pretty certain if lsu inquired about moving that arkansas would not only not care, but theyd sweep in and try to steal every recruit that just de-committed.
There is zero to gain and when the media got a hold of this story it would be a disaster for the AD, the Pres, recruiting. LSU would be a conference joke.
