Suppose Miles got the best out of the Tigers, that was there? The Mett is the QB that he proved to be. No one can simply devise a scheme and transform him into Andrew Luck. By the way, Luck never bested Oregon. LSU attrition was ridicules, for any team. Even as late as the Alabama game, the offensive lineman were dropping like flies, either by injuries or they quit. How in the world Les Miles had his freshmen and his offense playing out of their minds in that game was astonishing to me and deserves much more discussion then it ever receives. How does any SEC team lose all the key starters LSU did and still compete at a high level throughout the season? Miles is getting the short end of a discussion few even are willing to talk about or consider. Next year is it's own master, who knows.

Completely agree. My only point is this constant badgering over firing Les Miles. It's OLD. I absolutely have my disagreements over Miles' decision-making process sometimes, but we will have that with EVERY COACH YOU CAN POSSIBLY THINK OF TO PUT IN HIS PLACE. And that is a FACT. There hasn't been one coach from any team I follow that I haven't questioned a decision he has made in a game. But it doesn't mean he needs to be canned. My point is people wanting Les fired don't seem to realize that this has been the best of times at LSU... we should revel in the winning seasons we've had. Other teams fear LSU for that simple fact... we are tricky and elusive, always with growing talent on the sidelines waiting to make a mark.

Thanks for the link. That article perfectly lays out everything that I've felt about the offense this season.

Miles is not going anywhere for a long, long time unless he decides to retire and that ain't happening. I don't think he should go anywhere... he can be frustrating as hell at times but he does so many things right that it would be ridiculous to fire him. That being said, there has to be some changes made on offense if we want to compete at the highest level. We don't need a Chip Kelly or Mike Leach type offense but we do need an innovative offensive scheme with coaches that can adapt their schemes and play calling based on what is actually happening on the field. Sometimes it just seems like adjustments aren't made if the game plan isn't working then other times we find something that works but don't exploit it.

Despite the title of thread I think most on here are not calling for him to be terminated. However, there is a very UGLY trend that keeps popping up and it is horrible offensive play calling, execution, lack of points, horrible red zone performance etc etc. Yes LSU fans should be thankful for the wins...............so were Auburn fans before this year. EVERY team deals with some sort of adversity in a season, JUST like LSU had too. The part many CAN NOT get past are the SAME excuses for the SAME problems. Let's just say there are more than a few coaches out there that deal with problems much more effectively and promptly than Miles. I hope you are not offering an excuse for a bowl game that short of the score,
LSU was COMPLETELY dominated in. They had a chance to win it and ONCE AGAIN, as in a game earlier this season, could not finish and Miles was grossly outcoached.....again. We lost two bowl games in the same year, in neither game I don't think any LSU fan can find many positives for the future, especially on offense.

Again... I agree... I understand the frustrations, really. And of course there are coaches who deal with problems better than Miles. But none of them are available to hire and Miles just got a contract extension and a raise.

My personal experience w/ my support or lack of with Miles is such: I was a mild non-supporter per-National Title(2007). He got my support, of course, with that. He lost it with 2008(8-5 w/ 4 blowout losses and a loss to a bad Ark. team). He gained it back with the win at the Swamp in 2010, although, in hindsight, I can't believe Fla. didn't expect a fake on such a long FG attempt. He, of course, lost my support after Jan. 9th, 2012. That was the worst day in the history of LSU football IMO. Worse than home losses to UAB and Miami-Ohio. I don't believe in him or trust him. I do, however, believe he should keep his job. He is far more good than bad, but I DO NOT trust him. He has 0 eye for QB talent and couldn't call plays, or oversee the success of such, to save his life. I fear he will be good enough to have championship-wanting fans wanting....
