It's crazy how some of us analyze every minor detail of a lost game, and even a won game; then dole out some blame, either on the players or on the coaches. Looking back over LSU's history, Les Miles is simply the best coach we've had... hands down. Anyone of you can go and look at this for yourself. I know I have, because I wouldn't want to state something here if I couldn't back it up. But the thing that truly confuses me... every season with Les has been a winning one. We've all seen and experienced the ugly wins (and losses), we've all yelled at the TV for the same reasons. Each game has it's own little nightmares, but somehow LSU seems to pull off wins when many times we think they should have lost. But the same can be said about a great many games that LSU lost, and should have won... ALABAMA 2012 is a PRIME example of this. LSU won that game if you look at the numbers, but Bama was able to pull off a final blow in the end and won by points ALONE. My point is, why rage this battle about Les Miles day in and day out every season when we know he isn't going anywhere... a raise, contract extension, hello? I can't believe there are LSU fans out there who would FIRE Miles... and who the hell would you put in his place? Further, are you willing to take that gamble just to MAYBE have "prettier" wins? Seriously folks, knowing LSU's history, you would want to fire the one coach who has the highest winning percentage we've had? Honestly, this battle over "firing Les Miles" is as ridiculous as the battles over HOW we won a game. And like Stacey commented earlier in this thread, so many things happened in the beginning of this season with players dropping from the roster for this reason or that... leaving us with a lot of new kids. And some of you act like they should have been playing like pros right out of the box. While you contemplate firing Les Miles and how much you're willing to gamble on a new coach (who might completely SUCK mind you), I'm looking forward to next season with some players who showed decent talent the first time out and played their hearts out.
All true Mike, but Miles needs to recognize the overwhelming deficiencies in the passing game, no one with a brain wants him fired, but this is the 4th season in a row our passing game has been the difference between championships and what we have ended up with. I don't want him fired or even thought about being forced out, just fix the damn problem already and lets win some fucking titles. We have been right there and for that Miles doesn't get enough credit, that is true, but it's the same ole problem over and over.
11-2 11-2 12-2 8-5 9-4 11-2 13-1 10-3 Show me a coach that can put together an 8 year run of 85-21 with a NC title & another NC appearance AND is attainable to hire & we can fire Les. Does he have his issues? No doubt. Can we find a better coach out there who is not named Saban? Doubtful.
