Let JL play not that the pressure is off him. Now that he is a little older and a year deeper in the system I bet he can be a Matt for us. I dont think JJ can handle the position yet. RS should get mixed in running and passing the ball regardless. :geaux:

    1. JJ holds the ball for too long
    2. JJ takes 6-7 steps backward
    3. JJ is too scared to throw the ball
    4. JJ got a bad footwork and mechanic
    5. JJ can't read defense

If you watched to the game, you should know what I'm talking about.

This offense is rediculous, at this point it doesn't matter who plays QB.
Unless you can fix issues on the OLine it really doesn't matter!

Agree. Too conservative, maybe because of JJ's and/or the O-line's limitations.

Move over, let me get on this bandwagon with you. I also never understood (even when playing and coaching) how one person gets "annointed" as the starting quarterback and doesn't lose the job absent some horrific meltdown.

I also still like the idea of an A-11 inspired backfield. Put both JJ and JL in a modified pistol so that either one could get the snap. Chuck (or KW) at the tailback; TH (or RS) in the slot and more often than not in motion, JoJo and TT both split wide. D first has to figure out which QB is getting the ball, then what he's going to do with it.

Whoops, I forgot. LSU! isn't allowed to use misdirection. Sorry. My bad.

Yeah, I'm no SS fan either, but you are spot on with that. Playing QB for SS and not doing a good job? Expect to see a bit of the sideline. The man can flat out coach a QB

    Yup.

What, we should make our playbook easier so our quarterback can play?

He is just lost when he drops back in the pocket. he is not ready to be an SEC quarterback.

A Great coach makes the scheme fit the players!!!

He is lost ONLY when the plays come in from the sideline and instead of running routes our WRs are run blocking!

First of all I think that our coaching staff needs to put the QB in a position to play to their fullest ability and stop increasing their challenge to succeed by being so predictable and flat. This means providing that person all the tools, weapons, formations and plays they need for the situations and allowing them to execute. JJ to this point has looked uncomfortable often with some of the plays and that needs to be fixed.

If after you have done everything you can to put that player in situations where he should be successful he doesn't succeed then you pull the plug. In other words, eliminate the obstacles and provide the path. Once you have done that then it's a question of ability.

The backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team. I think Jarrett got a tough assigment last year and Jordan is facing a difficult challenge this year. Stay with Jordan but give Jarrett more playing time, when appropriate, so that he has opportunities to get in synch and be prepared if the time should come. I don't think you need to add QB controversy to an already challenging situation.

The bottom line is that the team was thrown into a difficult situation by the Perrilloux events and the learning curve for our young QB's was tossed out the window. Young men with little big stage experience have had to mature quickly but I don't think our coaches have done enough to help them. Failure to make changes in the approach or leverage all available resources just doesn't make sense to me. From my perspective that is what seems to be happening with our offense this year.

Put the play makers on the field, open the play book and play ball.

Man, I just can't help but think that Lee feels like he's really got something to prove when he gets his second chance. The few times we've seen him this year, his body language just looked 10x more confident and ready-to-go than it did at any point last year. Poor kid is probably just dying to prove himself. I'd really like to see him get his shot. Watching Jefferson's baseball-delivery has made me long for that sweet, effortless motion that he has.
