The difference is that one hasn't had a fair shot on the field this year. It would be different if Jefferson was performing well, heck even average. But he's performing extremely poor and I think Lee deserves to have a chance to show what he can do on gameday. Rohan is the classic example of a player that turned it on during games. It's Miles' team and he's running the way he wants. It's clear to me though that Jefferson's play has gotten worse over the past 2 years to the point where it is affecting the morale of the team and if he continues to be the only QB and play the way he has, we will be lucky to escape the SEC schedule with only 3 losses. The general belief is that Miles has no faith in either one but when you're at the bottom (offensively) sometime you have to take a leap of faith because you have no where to go but up. It's obvious Miles thinks it can get worse with Lee otherwise we would have seen him by now.
Yes, but you don't prepare for a disaster after it strikes. We have several disasters ahead on our schedule that at this point we are woefully unprepared for.
I understand what you are saying, but starting postions are earned in practice...evidently, JL is doing worse in practice than JJ's doing in games. If Miles isn't seeing it in practice, it's hard to pull the trigger and put JL in the game.
If Lee sucks that bad in practice, does it mean that his mind is still f' ed up from his traumatic experience in 2008? I hope not for his sake. I understand JJ's running ability gives him the edge over JL. But when you are consistently weak with passing game to the extent that the passing game is non existent, would it make more sense to make the offense less one dimensional; not to mention that making JJ run will increase his risk of injury, and you are left with a QB with no meaningful experience in the past year +. In the overall scheme of things, it would make more sense for both QB's to share the pressure as a TEAM; Miles seems to have forgotten about that. That may help out JJ in terms of decompression and regrouping. All these QB issues with this otherwise strong LSU football team has been pretty rough on the LSU faithful; I think, I think........... we need a TOGA party!:insane:
i think give lee a shot. i read the guilbeau article the other day and must say it concerns me that he's throwing a lot of picks at practice, too. if not him, give rs another shot...heck, run the wild tiger alot. i believe someone said ford (or another running back) had a good throwing motion...try him. just try something different because this ain't working!
Practice players exist. What matters is who is a game player. If Jefferson looks like Peyton Manning in practice it just doesn't matter when he's playing like Betty White out there in a game. They can't be properly judged by us or their coaches except under the stress of game conditions. Lee doesn't have to be Peyton Manning. All he has to do is get the pass off a bit quicker than Jefferson. It's doable. I'm sure Jefferson is twice the physical athlete of Lee, but he's slow in mental agility and perhaps Lee isn't.
Can someone answer this question Does coach Miles know what is being said and what everyone from football reporters to fans on this page and on radio programs are saying about the qb problem or has he completly insulated himself from everyone except the other coaches and his players? Do you think he is surrounded by yes men who will not dare say anything that confronts him
