1st and foremost... ICON? come on, now. I am very interested to know you were a "member of the club" and stand corrected about the "101" stuff. I don't mean to call anyone out and should have used better judgment, but I just never think/thought a "fan" should be allowed to be with the journalists. I guess my whole point is: I know he loves LSU and I know he wants to see the Tigers succeed, but how is it that he is any different than my grandfather, or my father, etc..? I think he is a pretty good guy and I've talked to him a few times. I just thought it was fair they took away his passes and don't think it's fair how he claims to be "one of us", when he isn't.
Lombardi was very instrumental in turning Florida into a sports powerhouse and I want him to do the same here...only this time we're already there except for basketball.
as far as i am concerned, that was a useless cheap shot that had nothing to do with being able to create a poll here. i only rarely read dd's site. that bit was nothing but snarkiness.:rolleye33:
Incredible, I think. I would read a Gisclair blog. If one counts on blogs for info, one certainly must read a bunch of them to get a sense of what's really happening. Each blogger has his own spin. As does each "journalist", I might add.
I want him to be influential, too . . . by hiring the right chancellor, a man like Emmert. Then let the chancellor hire a good AD who will hire a good coach. Letting the system President hire coaches is micromanagement at its worst.
I really don't care how it gets done as long as it gets done. I have heard that Lombardi is infamous for doing things his way or no way though.
the new AD should decide. nothing worse than skip going thru the process only to have the new AD hate the replacement because he's not "his guy". i read DD. every time he mentions bball, he's got something negative to say. thats fine, its his site, but his reputation suffers. i know zip about bball but he knows less. for example, after lsu lost to missst earlier this season he said the bulldogs would be fighting for the bottom of the sec. most everyone else knew they would be the best or near the best in the sec.
