I really think this would be a good week to test out this theory and see how a new kicker will perform. It would most certainly give LSU a competitive advantage as Auburn would have no film on the new kicker and could not time his kicks or ascertain the trajectory of those kicks. Auburn also wouldn't know what the effective range of the kicker would be, causing uncertainty in defensive strategy. I think this is a great idea and in case there are spies around; do not tell anyone, even the kickers, about this until game time. It is time to put Colt down and tell the new kicker just how much confidence the coaching staff has in him. MAKE THE SWITCH!!!!!! At least for this week...., then saner heads can prevail.
Why do we always question the coaches decision? They see these guys every day. They know a lot more than us.
Generally questioning coaches on certain position players is fine with me, because they get washed up in loyalty in certain times. However, special teams are an exception. Coaches know how they do in pressure during practice and how far and accurate they are.
Hello, is anybody home. Does anyone remember Juan. Am I to old for this forum? I am old but you guys need to know your history. I don't go back as far as Cannon but I have been to some great ones. True tigers have been to some bad games. Some games that would just make you want to cry in your seats. Oh and believe me i did! Where is the love these days!
Can they make FG's? Can't think of any other reason to gripe about their playing time in the kicker thread. Was he before Browndyke? I think that's the farthest back I go. After him was Lefleur, then Wide Richie, Corbello, Jackson, Colt. I might be missing someone in there though.
Juan Betanzos kicked in the mid-70's and he was a major pr!ck, I had a class with him. But he was good from long range, the first soccer-style kicker at LSU and the first LSU kicker to hit a 50-yard field goal. But nobody on the team or anywhere else liked him much. Not even Cholly Mac, I hear.
