He He’s young and has a lifetime to be a head coach but when we’re that age, we don’t realize it. If he knew how long he had to take on that headache down the road, at his age, and what he’s gonna make, he’d stick around a few years and enjoy it. Is he married?
Maybe they would make it fit, but Brady has a very different offense from Herman and I can’t see Herman giving up play calling on offense. Brady is eventually going to leave and we need to be able to replace him (look at Alabama’s carousel of coordinators). I don’t think now is the time, because there’s still room for him to grow here, but he’s going eventually unless he doesn’t ever want to be a head coach.
Texass has big time money. If Brady or Aranda leave for just the money screw em both. There has to be great assistant coaches dying to coach here.
But Tom Herman is suppose to be a OC/QB guru extraordinaire? That's his wheelhouse. He would probably either meddle & disrupt Joe Brady's schemes or take the credit - "Tom Herman finally shines! Just took the 'wizard' a few years to set up his chess pieces"
No question LSU will offer him a raise and possibly a promotion (regardless). Also, I’m not sure Herman’s style and Brady’s style mesh well. Beck may be the fall guy, but that’s Herman’s offense that’s shit the bed down the stretch.
Now I’m hearing Chad Morris is a prime target for OC. Again, I don’t think Herman would allow Brady to do his thing. Herman like that’s power option run the QB shit that Urban Meyer/Dan Mullen run. This is going to be an interesting year in the coaching carousel. Lots of teams looking, lots of coaches & coordinators looking.
