Why not? Is it because you don't think he would believe he would have as bright a future in the pros at LB? However, if it is because of injury risk I would not be completely sold on the argument. At his age many kids think they are invincible. He is already returning punts and has had some nasty shots laid on him, but it hasn't fazed him. The kid looks tough. He reminds me of when we used Clayton, a WR, on defense years ago. A tall, naturally strong and fast kid who can do it all. We need to find a spot for him where his speed and natural ability can shine.

Clemons has already worked at LB. He's up to 220+ lbs and will be a LB the last I read.

:geaux: :crystal: :helmet: If I'm not mistaken, I think Chad Jones has said several times he's not interested in moving to LB and prefers playing safety. I'm sure I've read that a couple of times. Has anyone else seen or heard the same thing? Even if he did say this, I'm sure he could still end up at LB. I think he's better staying at safety though.:geauxtige :champs: :LSU231: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal:

Because I think he'd bulk up too much, which would not be good for his baseball career.

As I mentioned above, he is already listed at 222 lbs. If that is correct he really shouldn't have to put on any additional weight, other than what naturally comes with maturity, to play LB, especially OLB. Even gaining a measly 5 pounds would make him heavier than Highsmith's listed weight.

Id love to see Jones moved to LB. His speed would be scary. He has the all around skills to be an All American LB or S for that matter. I think he could make a huge impact at LB. With Coleman looking so good in the CG I think it affords us the oppertunity to have Jones switch positions.

He carries that 220lbs so easily though, that I just don't see him naturally staying under 235 if he moves to LB.

How much does Coleman weight, and can he play OLB?

Jones will start at SS for the next 2 seasons. That's just the facts.

I've read from not necessarily great sources that Clemons has already been moved to LB.
