So as i live in the belly of the Big 12 beast. I get Big 12 news 24-7. Several of my golf buddies who are Texas Bonghorns said Sheppard is considering reopening his recruiting and wants to go to Texas. Said he is a big UT fan and he is reconsidering.

Has any of you recruiting guru's heard of this rumor ?

If this is posted already let me know I will delete it.

I have heard this since he committed to us. Shepard has denied it though. He made it clear that unless the coaching staff(Miles) left, there would be no reason to change his mind. It is well documented that he has loved UT growing up, but it is even better documented that he has actively and vocally recruited for LSU.

Almost every msg board will find Longhorn fans going negative on LSU and it's because of the visible poaching we have done this year. When we take Seastrunk next year, you can really expect to hear the howls. It's just a defense mechanism. Shep will be a Tiger.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: I think your Bonghorn Buddies are jerkin' your chain. Also probably some wishful thinking on their part, along with some sour grapes. Would imagine they're getting tired of LSU getting top talent out of Texas that they think belongs to them. Don't think Shep would be doing all that work on getting other top recruits to come to LSU if he wasn't solid on coming himself. I don't think LSU has anything to worry about. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Sounds like they're hoping for a reversal of fortunes for the Perrilloux re-nig a few years ago. Although I'm sure that they are now glad that they didn't get him, don't think that they're not still peeved about it. The downfall of a Texan has always been his pride.

This rumor has been circulating a bit recently & at other times before, but there's not truth to it.

Glad to hear your take on these rumors. I think we can take that to the bank.

Anybody who has thrown themselves into recruiting for a team that they have not even signed on the dotted line for will definitely not be changing his mind.

    All LSU. All day. Championship!

He has an LSU jersey on a pic on his myspace page. Enough said.

Cute name. Did you make that up all by yourself?

Anyways, I think Shepard is an LSU lock. I'm more worried about Texas going after Devon Kennard, Jamarkus McFarland and Craig Loston than Mr. Shepard.

Shepard's a great talent, but we have Chiles already and Garrett Gilbert coming in next year.
