Seriously! It's been a long time and I think we could have utilized it more.

Oh I know why we didn't run them. That requires a QB that can actually handle pocket pressure and keep his cool while the pocket collapses and his linemen get downfield to block. And actually get off an accurate throw at the right time. As soon as JL got his panic button pushed, he made bad throws. With JJ, it was tuck and run.

Well, he looked pretty good against Georgia's defensive starters a couple of years ago in that G-Day game on YouTube, but under Willie Martinez one could argue that wasn't an SEC caliber defense.

Of course you're prudent to take a wait-and-see approach. I can't help being optimistic, though. I've watched Zach closely since I first saw him at a Nike camp when he was 15. He has the gifts; can he become the leader?

To me, that's the only question.

There's no question he has the raw ability. I just remember all the posters here who saw Russell Shepard play in HS gush about how he was going to be an absolute phenom at LSU and the next big thing, and that hasn't happened. He could have what it takes to be an upper-tier SEC QB, but none of us knows for sure until he suits up in the fall.

Yep. Ran it into the EZ from about 40-50yds out against AU in '07. Of course, since the play worked, Gary Crowton immediately destroyed that page of the playbook. It was also Keiland's last touch of that game.

At the very least, it looks like we will have a QB who can keep the defense honest.

I think Miles holds to the fact that if you rush for 100, stop them from rushing for 100, and win the turnover battle, you win the game.

We lost 3 games in the past 2 years with very low passing yards. That is over.

The Tigers with a QB is the nightmare that will keep them up at night!

Don't be too delusional now. Seriously though, we all hope Les Miles will change his stubborn ways. I just don't think that the desired change will ever come to fruition. Hopefully, he'll prove me wrong.

Watching the underutilization of Shep has been rather agonizing. Here's to hoping that Les sets a new course offensively.
