Remember how horrible it was to see McFadden line up @ QB? Wouldn't it be nice to strike that kind of fear?

I couldn't agree more. To strike that kind of fear, there needs to be the threat of the forward pass. Also, the motion guy needs to be a speedy player, not a
    235 pound RB.

He showed some pretty natural ability at wideout this spring. Although he dropped a few catchable balls, he definitely proved he can get open and make things happen after the catch. I'm super excited to see us deploy him all sorts of ways. Hand offs, end arounds, sweeps, screens, drag routes, deep balls, direct snaps, etc.

What was most infuriating about his use last season was when he would be paired with JJ in the same backfield. If you have a weapon like Shep, just cut out the middle man and snap it right to him. Tell the other 10 guys to block, and tell Shep to run until he reaches the mascot.

That guy is gonna make the band play a lot this year, hope they're ready. I stand by my prediction of 45 touchdowns.

Who returns punts and kicks? I think Shepard and Peterson on kick return. As for punt return, I believe it will probably be Randle or Peterson because of their sure hands.

Look for Ron Brooks back there too at some point. Seems I remember they use him from time to time as well.

I think it is really basic. If he can get the ball in the open field, he will be dangerous, but it is up to the o-line to make that happen. Our offense is a big question mark. We will be good because of the defense, but its the o-line and qb that needs to take us to the next level. Nothing new here.

80 touches in a 12-game season works out to fewer than 7 touches a game. I (and I believe most fans) will be upset with anything less than 10 touches a game.

I don't know, that's more than D-Bowe had his SR year. If Shepard really breaks out, he can hit 1000 yards on 80 touches. Can we really expect more than that?

Lafell averaged 13.9 YPC last year. If RS can do that through 80 receptions, that's over 1100 yards receiving. I think we would all be happy with that.

Are you counting special teams touches in your numbers, because if you are then yes the number goes way up. Also, I was using 13 games for my calculations so its even less per game. I would love to see him get 10 per game, but I'm also realistic. I really don't see a reason he shouldn't get that, but it is what it is. My fear is that he gets treated like Williams and his touches stay the same over his career instead of increasing.

Hopefully this won't happen, but much of this rides on him. He needs to live up to the hype.
