Most people have something bad to say about Miles. He is a good coach overall, and as far as the program going downhill and back to the dark days, I think that's baloney. Miles' worst season was 8-5 with a bowl win. In the nineties we had seasons that made us dream for a season like that. We're a long way from those days. No, I don't think is Miles' is faultless, but even the revered Saban had his problems. But as a whole, he has done a lot for the program, and any faith you put in him will not be unrewarded in the long run.
Shepard will get slightly more touches at WR than RB IMO but it will be close. After next year I think he will be more of a WR possession WR as he eases into the position.
I just hope he isn't blowing smoke about playing Shepard to get critics off his back. I am really tired of hearing how he has a "want" to get him touches. He has the power to make this happen. Shepard isn't Rudy, a walk on senior, who the coach will try to find a way to work him in at the end of the game. We have our Reggie Bush, Percy Harvin, Desean Jackson, etc. Take advantage of it.
Les has his moments, but he is not that stupid. If he wants to pull that same stunt this season that he did in the Florida and Penn State games, he will have a full-scale fan revolt on his hands that'll make the Ole Miss fallout look like a walk in the park.
Shepard can be infinitely more dangerous at wr. All he has to do is catch the ball. I will be holding my breath.
I would rather see him at RB more, but it will certainly be exciting watching him on the field either way
Well his moves are dangerous anywhere, but playing slot would be the equivalent of getting him the rock on a fastbreak. RS in space? With that speed? Sweet.
I would love for the "Wizard" to start getting a little imaginative. Just think putting Shep in at WR for a couple of plays, RB for a couple of plays then all of a sudden he gets a little pitch back and hits TT in stride. Do that a couple of times and defensive coordinators will have to make plans to stop him. Again it is all on how imaginative our OC decides to be. Last year that was decidedly not very imaginative.
