Well beings he threw for over 3000 yds in HS, and I mean a real HS, not one of these 7 on 7 2a bugtussle high jobs I'd start with letting him throw the effing ball once in a while. Small fast guys cannot take the pounding of an SEC feature back. They will always be return specialists and change-of-pace backs. Nobody recruited Shepard as a Quarterback except LSU which is why we got him. He was always an athlete but Les gave him his shot. Shepard made the mistake of wanting to switch to receiver. He probably should have been a DB or a running back. The guy averages something like 7 yards a carry.
