Since this week's opponent is the lowly Green Wave I hope Les gives RS at least 20 touch. He needs to play to get more experience

Shepard is too thin to handle that kind of workload. He'd get broken. He's NOT a big guy and needs some more weight-training.

If you use him as a running back, I like more option-reads out of the shotgun (where he's not getting the ball busting heads between the tackles).

I think he should get 10-15 touches a game and at least 3-4 of those as a QB.

I would not mind letting Shep get a few more touches vs. Tulane, but I think you guys are underestimating how small he is right now. He's still a good 10 lbs. away from filling out, and he's already taken a few big hits this year, including one fumble.

No sense in exposing him to injury against a middling opponent like Tulane IMO. Plus we don't want to give Bama anything to look at. Yes, we should get him involved but nothing crazy. Get him 5-10 touches and get him out of there.

This is one thing that worries me as well, especially after seeing Shep getting body-slammed a couple times in the few times he has played this season. But I thought the CBS announcers were saying JJ went from being like 180 or 190 last season to like 210 or 220 this season... and if we could do it with JJ, Shep will get bigger as well.

As for fumbles, I think Shep has had a least two already, and that is in a limited amount of touches.

Jefferson was listed at 210 coming into last season, and 220 coming into this season. He's a big boy.

With the work ethic Shep seems to posses, I'm sure he is a monster in the gym. At 6'1", if he can get over 200 pounds, he will be pretty beefy, and that 10-15 pounds is totally possible in a season. Plus, it helps when you have the best in the business - Tommy Moffitt. :thumb:

A heisman winner from LSU would be a great thing, almost as great as :crystal:. Hopefully, we'll see him run some more against Bama (Not Tulane though, no need to let Bama in on anything :)
