Man, our football season has only been over a week and reading between the lines on this thread it's obvious that none of us (me included) can patiently wait for next season. It's kind of like watching the bull riders and the bulls at the rodeo when they're in position waiting for the gate to open. Too bad the gates don't open for a while. This will all be settled on the field - Stap 'em up and get ready to roll boys!!!
Thank goodness we have a productive basketball and baseball program with popular coaches to take up our time.
Shep will likely have a Tebow/Perrilloux role next year, and let's not get carried away on Jefferson - he impressed, but didn't light the world on fire.
He's done about as good as any true freshman could be expected to do in the SEC and what he's shown should make every LSU fan very happy leading into next year.
JJ did well in the games he played and showed a quick progression. The test will come next year after a few games and DCs have compiled some game film on him. Every QB has an exploitable weakness. We just have not seen JJ's yet, and it may be minor anyway. Hopefully, our coaches will see them first and help JJ to overcome them. We will still have questions at the QB slot next year, but JJ's performance should enable us to answer that one better than we did this year. Then we will only have to worry about our WR corp, replacing 2-3 Olinemen, firming up the DBs, and correcting the LBs. Should be a cinch.
