No they don't. LSU has back-to-back 1,000 yard rushers. Does Florida even have a RB? Should I be checking milk cartons to find him? Scott averages more yards than Keiland Williams & KW has 540+ yards of Offense this year. Murphy averages 1 full yard less than Charles Scott per carry at this point in his career. Who would you give the ball to?

Percy Harvin 35 catches 595 yards. He doesn't have close to what LaFell has done this year - 63 catches for 929 yards. Demetrius Byrd has more catches than Harvin & 513 yards of receiving.

I'm talking about our potential hybrid players (Holliday, Murphy, and Williams). Harvin is a RB / Receiver and as an opposing defense, you never can be sure of when or where he'll get the ball. IMO, that's what makes him most dangerous.

Well to be fair, Harvin also has 500+ rushing yards. I think Florida uses him quite well, and take into consideration that he is hurt a LOT.

LSU uses our backs quite well also, we just don't really have a Harvin type player. Trindon has rockets on his shoes, but nowhere near the moves of Harvin.

Both schools do well with what they have. Shep may prove to be a similar Harvin type and certainly Debose is comparable. Regardless, both these guys will be making highlight reels for the next few yrs.

exactly, and Russell will get more YAC than Trindon. And will be better in the "WildCat formation" because of his knowledge of the QB position.

You sure get ornery when people disagree with you. :hihi:

I've seen great players come and go at LSU and unless there is a DIRE need for change at a position, they typically get redshirted...this is ESPECIALLY true for QBs, as they need the extra time to develop.

Great. LSU does not run Florida's Offense. I don't like thier Offense. Bunch of midgets (Rainey & Demps) with world class speed running 3-4 yard out routes. Not fun to watch, doesn't look like football to me.

LSU needs a QB. Russell Shepard & Garrett will play Quarterback. IF Shepard had wanted to play WR or some Harvin-like position, he would have gone to Texas as a WR or Florida as the "Next Percy Harvin" wouldn't he?

I think we're arguing the same point.

I understand the cause for concern with incoming freshman. But the Tiger Nation will see a player unlike any other player we've had since Kevin Faulk.
It's hard for people in Louisiana to grasp what Russell Shepard is capable of. When you get to see him in person, you realize that he's not ordinary. During his High School games this year, Russell would rip off 15 - 20 yard runs, and the home fans would barely clap for him. They needed runs over 30 yards to get excited. It was very weird at my 1st Cy Ridge game.

We have JJ at QB, and he is doing great. He improved from the last two games, and is getting better with more confidence. What happens if he goes down? Back to Hatch? or Lee? NO WAY....I want Russell Shepard in the offense right now, learning every bit of it. I much rather have RS in there, much like we pushed for JJ to get in at QB this year. Now you see the importance of getting a young QB in to the fold of the offense.

I don't LIKE it and I don't AGREE with it, but if JJ goes down, it's going to be Lee.
