Good friend of several players tells me that Shepard is staying. Wish I could say otherwise for most of our fans though, unfortunately.
That would be great news. It could only help him and it would be a much more fitting way for his time at LSU to end. Shep has been ALL tiger from the sec he committed and it would be a shame for him to exit the program on a bad note. Guys like Shep are great school and team ambassadors
Hope it's true.... I hope it was a case of enormous frustration and anger and disappointment with how the game unfolded. Heck! We all feel/felt that way! It's good to know that the players actually care just like we do--that they're not just in it to "do their own thing" and not give a crap.... I like Shep. He's been a good guy and up until this week (comments, etc.), a great role model and teammate. I think he has talent....maybe he's not the 5-star recruit they had him pegged as coming out of High school....but that doesn't mean it's too late for him to find that form. After all, Jacob Hester was a 2-star recruit coming out of high school and he won a :crystal: as a starting RB and has worked his way to a decent NFL career. Perhaps RS (and the rest of our top WR prospects) were just unfortunate to be at LSU when our QB position was less than stellar?? That will likely change next season though.
There's got to be more juice to the "leaving for the NFL" story that we don't know about, but i would probably want to leave too after the way the "fans" lashed out on him on Twitter. If he can ace the NFL combine, then he is good to go. Good Luck, Shep. I still hope you stay and wait for a competent QB to finally take the field though...:geaux:
Pretty much. I don't think any of us wanted much to do with LSU football immediately after Monday night. Time heals all wounds though. Really hope after taking a step back to think Shep will come back and finish his career. It'd be the best way for him to respond to the recent adversity.
Shep has been a great ambassador of LSU since arriving... I'm sure a lot of it was just pure frustration on the loss. It happens. Just like a ton of fans here melted down right after. IMO he'd be better utilized as a Percy harvin type... delayed draws, quick slants, and returns, misdirection, etc. Shep is obviously a dangerous threat with the ball in his hands, I hope Miles finds a better way to use him.
Quote: I would like to tell everyone that I had a great talk with my family and Coach Miles and I will be attending LSU for my senior season...
