I'm not holding my breath, but I agree with doing it in the first game. Don't wait. If you do it in the first game, then the defense will be on their heels.
It's easy to imagine him doing a bit of the Tebow act, where he takes the ball from the shotgun, steps aggressively towards the line, then pulls up and hits R2T2 streaking on a post route.
Well, I saw the NFL Hall-of-Fame inductions the other day, and you had Jerry Rice talking about how hard he had to work to be as successful as he was at WR... and then you have Russell Shepard talking about how Jerry Rice "worked his butt off and wanted it"... and you have Russell Shepard saying: "So every day since the first day of the summer to now, I caught between 75 to 150 balls a day, which is huge." And despite Russell Shepard giving up on QB to be a WR, and despite all of Russell Shepard's hard work to be a great WR... you have this f-ing idiot "King Emeritus" guy come around and say "sounds the same to me." F-ing dick.
This might actually send me over the edge if he does. Had he thrown even a single pass in the middle of the season last year, we would have been a better team.
I know Russell Shepard has been busting his butt for this team and I have alot of respect for him. I have great respect for any player who puts in extra time. My concern was that his lack of time at other positions would be an excuse for him not running enough plays from the wildcat and from the RB position. He was our biggest big play threat from the backfield last year and I don't want his lack of practice time to be a reason he doesn't get his touches there.
