Funny cause half of the Spurs players are foreign born and actually play more of an European style ball than the Suns. Spurs set a lot of screens, move the ball around and play solid defense. Suns are just a whiny, run and shoot team that plays no defense.

Regardless of the trade, Suns are not gonna make it to the finals, they're always a good regular season team but aren't built for the playoffs.

TB3 pretty much understands what is going on here.

You gotta realize this is a "win an NBA championship this year or bust" move for the Suns. They realize Nash is probably on the decline after this year, as well as a couple of other guys (Bell for one). They now have a presence in the middle that can cause problems for other West teams who play physical.

If they win an NBA championship then it was all worth it. Plus they were not going to sign Marion anyway after this season and he wasn't happy about that at all. You get rid of a disgruntled player and get in return an impact player who can help you win a championship this year. That's IF Shaq stays healthy. It's certainly a big IF. Worst the risk? Certainly.

    I echo your thoughts.

I just think they had a better shot to actually win it all with Marion.

    That's just me.

Whether it was a good trade for the Suns remains to be seen. Only thing we know is that it was a great trade for the Heat. They clear $40 million in cap space over the next two seasons, they have the worst record in the nba and Shaq was not gonna bother to play much the rest of the season. With Shawn Marion, they can make some noise in the East. I don't mean that they're gonna qualify for the playoffs but will cause problems for the top teams in the East. Marion becomes a free agent this summer, meaning that the Heat will have a lot of cap room to bring good free agents. I'm sure that some players would like to go play in Miami.

Wade and Arenas together? Not sure how that's gonna work. Any idea?

There will be some good PG's in the NBA draft this year, the Heat should have a high enough pick to get one. Derrick Rose, DJ Augustin, and OJ Mayo come to mind.

Left out Ty Lawson, Darren Collison and Mario Chalmers

Heat need a true point (someone like Billups or Nash).
