I don't follow the NBA (or basketball at all) all that much any more until the postseason starts, but didn't that sissy European style embarrass our NBA all-stars in the Olympics? Isn't that sissy style what's most successful at the college level as well? Isn't that ssissy style also what the US team more closely resembled at the World Games (or whatever that was last summer)?
nope you are wrong about that Nut, we lost because we didnt have any shooters nor a real point guard. We won at the Worlds last summer because we had true point guards and chemistry.
I'll have to take your word for it, because I haven't really followed basketball since the Knicks broke up their team from the early-mid 90's.
trust me on that, just because we put together a bunch of superstars, that doesnt mean we will win it all. It takes coaching and chemistry now. Players with the right attitudes.
That I understand, and it has always been that way. From only hearing bits and peices of news reports, I got the impression that the NBA style did not match up well with the European style of play, which created a disadvantage for team USA.
Its not really the style, its more of the chemistry, see alot of those foreign teams, they play together year round. With the USA, they have like a month to Gel. With superstars, thats not enough time to fit their egos in the gym. So its a big difference in the chemistry of the teams. Thats why it is important to put the right guys together who are seasoned and understand the game. You cant put a bunch of guys together and run alot of isolation sets.
