Dude, I've been a Harris detractor but he looked fine last night. He showed promise, he showed that he has definitely passed Anthony Jennings. At no point last year did I feel as comfortable with the ability of the quarterback than I do now. Just let the dog hunt.
I think he showcased his arm quite fine and made some really good mental calls either by tucking and running and/or not making a bad pass... Two very smart throw-a ways and 1 no-call catch that was pretty clear.. Beautiful TD pass all for not.
Not to mention reading a blitz from the corner, changing the play, realizing the play clock was about to run out and called time, came back, saw the same blitz and then threw at the blitz. We also saw him on the sideline being a leader.
A Win.... First time out on the road against a good QB.... Against a SEC West opponent.... I'll take it
oh god we know its a win. lets try to be a bit more nuanced than that. if all we cared about was a W we'd simply just check the box score the next day.
Exactly. There is a huge difference between a hard fought game we pulled out in the end and barely squeaking by due to the opponent missing a last second FG (AFTER Miles was so dumb as to give him a free kick and adjust), pissing a lead away by awful play calling DICTATED BY Miles, and handcuffing our Sophmore QB making his 2nd start who did nothing but show he was ready to play.
Sincere question. If we are going to throw passes in the flat, would it kill us to do so from a formation that allows for a blocker or two when the WR catches the ball instead of just hoping they can juke someone? Too much to ask maybe.
They should rip this page out of the playbook and light it on fire. They have never run this play successfully in who knows how long, Skyler Green maybe. Maybe.
