Wow. 27-34 at Temple over the past 5 seasons there. Really, Miami? Listening to local radio here, sports writer Jason Whitlock was a guest calling in this morning and said that the Canes should have kept Shannon until they KNEW who their new head coach was, even if that meant hanging onto to Shannon for one more year. He said the Canes administration (AD) was so foolishly confident that the Jon Gruden's of this world would come running when called. Obviously, no one wants that job. Here's to another 5 glorious years of irrelevance.
Didn't we say the same thing about a certain coach at Auburn. You never know, maybe next year they pay for a Cam Newton, er I mean get one.
How quickly a team can become a also ran. A decade ago they could have had their pick from any coach they wanted. 1 major mistake and a decade later they are still trying to recover.
Dude, Islstl, you have to be the biggest U hater on the planet. But in your defense, I am surprised you didn't blast Jacorry Harris in this thread. And from what I am understanding, Jon Gruden turned down that job because Miami wouldn't name his brother CIW.
Honestly I like this Hire. The guy took Temple and turned them into a winner. Temple..... Plus he is young, energetic runs a clean program, hard nosed. Frankly I think this guy is going to surprise people...
You may very well be right. And I'm not saying he is necessarily a bad hire, but obviously they were reaching for a much more credible coach than this. It's just astonishing nobody really wants this job anymore.
Come live in South Florida for a while. You'll learn to the hate Da U. You really couldn't type "coach in waiting"? I mean, what the phuck?
