You wanna know why fans are ticked off?

Les Miles took over a 4 or 5 star football program. He has recruited with the best of them since the day he arrived at LSU. We have a top 5 football team on paper, which in college football, means 10 win seasons are the regular, with a season or two when a championship is earned.

This team is on a decline and I said in my article in TigerWeekly last week that the season was not over and if the coaching staff cannot inspire this football team to defeat two big rivals, then it is a sign of a declining program. Now, LSU was lucky to be in shape to win that football game. Ole Miss what, doubled are yardage? Probably tripled our time of posession? You do know that LSU had like a 6 or 7 game winning streak over the Rebs before losing to them the past two seasons. You know whats funny about that? They haven't recruited nearly as well as we have and definitely do not have the talent we have at every skill position. However, we have lost to them two straight seasons and now we think thats ok?

Listen, I have been a Les Miles fan since what he did in 2005 with this community and program. However, after this season, he will have to win the SEC next year for him to keep his job in my opinion. There are so many young coaches out there that would love to be considered for this job. And I'm also sure that they understand the rules of football when they sign their name on the contract.

I just don't think Miles can handle this job and pressure anymore. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see it.

LSU will be shopping in December 2010.

Last week there were 9 teams better than us. This week it's 16. Other than that, nothing has changed.

I disagree with you on almost everything political, but I've got to say, on football, we're on the same page.

    Let's not panic people.

Also, let me add that if it weren't for our superior talent, LSU would have lost to Georgia and Miss. State. That would give LSU 5 losses, with an opportunity for number 6 against a rising Arkansas team.

Oh, ok, your logic is amazing! Please, tell me where I can find some of this treasure trove of reasoning.

If Georgia and Miss. State had better talent, they would have won.

If LSU had more time on the clock at Ole Miss we would have won.

If Miles didn't have Lesticles he would be a woman.

Did I get it right? Seriously, you are trying to disregard our wins with an "if" reasoning?

I don't care who was the better coach based on straight W/L percentage and number of wins while at LSU. I'm more interested in who the better overall coach is. In my opinion, and in the opinion of most of the nation, Saban is the better coach. I think what he accomplished at LSU is more impressive considering the state of the program when he inherited it. To believe otherwise is dellusional, in my opinion, but you aren't the only LSU fan to feel that way. I understand some fans feeling the need to justify to themselves that Miles is the better coach. They're called kool-aid drinkers.

I wasn't impressed with Miles from go and reluctantly backed him for a year following the NC. But all my initial concerns have returned and I see our program slipping to pre-Saban levels. Having excellent underperforming skill players and thin lines was a norm prior to Saban. Having an undisciplined, unorganized team was the norm prior to Saban. I see us returning to that.

I think the Miles lied thing is being blown out of proportion. Coach can't speak. I'm mad about the direction of the program. If I were hiring a replacement I wouldn't go the Saban route (though pissing off Bama would be a nice FRENCH benefit). Saban wasn't perfect and I find it hard to forgive him for the one-two punch he gave us. It especially stings when we lose to the guy.

Well, the essence of my point would hold up either way.

The coach can't speak? I've seen countless amount of personal statements made from members of this board that says he can speak. I've met CLM at a American Heart Association benefit and can attest to his annunciation and degree of speech excellence.

His "coach speak" to reporters is nothing more, in my opinion, then keeping people in the dark...does he have to report the minuscule and minute details to the Laz-E-Boy Head Coaches at home? No. He doesn't owe us anything other than performing on the field and his stats prove he can do just that.

Oh, but you don't care about stats? Well, we could take Bob Stoops or even Nick Saban and say, hey, not based on their stats, these guys win...and then watch it crumble when the pressure is on the line (a la Bowl games). Hell, even the "great :dis:" Pete Carroll has been exposed.

Me? I want a Coach who is going to be true to himself and his players. You know what I noticed, more than anything else about the Ole Myth game? When JJ spiked the ball and ran to the sidelines, CLM looked him in the eyes, patted him on the head, and reassured him it wasn't his fault. I saw a coach with compassion and care for his players, a coach that these players trust.

To quote the , hopeful, future Heisman LSU star, Russell Shepard:

"That's my man, I am willing to ride and die with Coach" (not verbatim)

Do we want to be known as the fanbase that crumbles around a loss or one that strengthens from the build up?
