Seriously...do we have a REAL reason why Lee doesn't play?

I haven't read through this entire thread... That said, how do we know JL would continue throwing pick-6's the very moment he starts a game? How do we know that he isn't better than what he showed last year vs La Tech?

The fact of the matter is, we don't. For all we know, he has dramatically improved his game, and we see a totally different QB out there than we saw in '08. Before things on O spiral completely out of control, doesn't it make sense to see if JL can play better than JJ? Why not let him start next week, and play the entire game. We may be pleasantly surprised, and if he plays well, that bodes well for the O leading into the tough games.

JJ needs the bench and hopefully clear the cobwebs. I think he can be effective to play several series a game to change things up, but just not as the starter at this stage.

I agree, while it wasn't a pic 6, JJ gave them 7 points last night.

Well, to summarize, pretty much everyone agrees that JL should be given a shot. Not everyone agrees that he will do better...and there is truly no evidence to suggest he would. But by the same token, there's no evidence to suggest he can possibly do worse. JJ is playing as poorly as possible, and if not for a clumsy DB, would've had his own pick 6 last night. Ahab the Arab thinks Lee CAN do worse than last. But even he says let JL play...

And if you go watch the 2010 spring game, you'll see that Lee still sucks...just not as bad as JJ. Everyone seems to agree with this...that JL should start. It isn't because he's so good...it's because what we're doing now isn't working, and isn't improving.

How many games have each started? JJ has 17? and there's absolutley NO progress with him. He seems like a great kid but how many more starts does he need before some realize he's not the answer?

Maybe Lee isn't either but he hasn't had much of an opportunity to show us anything. If you want to go back two years ago, then use the same criteria you use in making excuses for JJ.

Regarding the INTs for TDs in 2008...several of those shouldn't have resulted in TDs but the players just seemed to quit and not even attempt to tackle the opponent.

JJ and Crowton are a good defensive coordinator's dream. I hope our defense and special teams can score because we're not going to average more than 10 points on offense with JJ leading the way.

A lot of those pick 6's in 2008 were DB's jumping bubble screens too...

My thing is that even if JL turns out to not be better than JJ, we still need to have JL take snaps while the game is still manageable to get that experience. I'm not saying pull JJ for a half but we need to start doing a 2 QB system.

I am pretty sure JL is good on the experience department.

HOWEVER, JL needs to be in a game where we aren't trying to come from behind, thats the real difference...
