The exaggeration is in jest, I do this all the time, should I mark these when I do?

I do see what your saying, I've been through the good and the bad years at LSU. Had a field pass (Home and away), and open pass to practice during the Curley Hallman years. So yes, I've been through the good and the bad, even after this loss, these are the best years in LSU football. I made friends with a bunch of coaches and players through the years, many I still see and talk with. My love for LSU started a long time ago, a Tiger then, one now, till I die. I could beat up Les and the staff, but knowing what I know, they are doing what they think is best. Thats the coaching profession. You will never see a closer fraternity than Football Coaches, I saw a few guys I haven't seen since the Curley years at a game last year, we talked like I haven't seen them in weeks, not years.

Does Eli get his first win tonight? Are the Giants that bad? Can their staff coach?

10 years is about the limit for coaches nowadays. It may be time to move on. We may have maximized our potential with les trending down.

Giants win by 7. Peyton Hillis runs for 100. Jacobs is out.

The day after the BCSNCG debacle, I wore an LSU sweatshirt to teach school because it was college week. Some of my 8th grade boys said, "Why are you wearing that? You lost!"

I told them, "I was a Tiger yesterday; I'm a Tiger today; and I'll be a Tiger tomorrow." Bama may be winning a gazillion championships, but I wouldn't want to be them. I like being who I am.

As for the coaching fraternity being tight-knit, you're right. I grew up around that. At the time, I had no idea how many of the old-time Louisiana high school coaches were former LSU players or NFL players, etc.

Back in the early 80's, when I was 11 or 12, my dad ran into CJ Alexander outside of the high school all-star game in Lafayette. He was talking to him and apparently, I was giving CJ the stink eye. He said, "You don't like me very much, do you?"

I told him, "You coach in my dad's district, so you're the enemy."

But my goodness, those guys were great friends with lots of mutual respect to go around.

Last year I made the Southern Miss/ Rice game, after the game I saw a couple of the S. Miss coaches, Tucker Peavey (He was at LSU during the Archer years, also at ULL under Baldwin) and Steve Buckley (Bucks was on the Hallman staff at LSU), haven't see Tucker since his days at ULL and haven't seen Bucks since his days at LSU. It was good to see those two.

I was at the Rice Spring game two years ago, on the team was Gary Kubiak's (Texans Head Coach) son Klein also on the team was Les Frazier's(Vikings Head coach) son, Corey.

Oh, also on that Baldwin staff at ULL was Former LSU player Tyke Tolbert (Now the WR coach in Denver).

So right Stacey, the kids and wives of coaches are a tight knit bunch also, they have to be, you never know when you'll be moving. One coach I know has moved like 10 times, I've been to most of the places hes coached at over the years.

Over the years, my dad had offers to join LSU's staff several times (under Charlie Mac and later, Stovall). And of course, assistants, hell head coaches didn't make crazy money back then--so money was kind of a wash.

However, he never took any of the jobs because he, ultimately, had no control over losing his job when the coach got canned, etc.

A coaching friend of mine has a good job now, but when a job opens at LSU, he makes calls and puts his name into the hat. LSU is one of the better paying jobs and one of the more stable in the business.

A friend of mine was coaching at an SEC school, after one year his wife was ready to move, well after a month, the wife was ready to move. One day my phone rings, I'm thinking its my friend, but it his wife, she tells me to hang on. The coach gets on the phone and says that he has an interview with another SEC school, an his job was to take the job.

I was eating lunch with a coach one day and his phone rang, it was another coach that had applied for a position with his school. My friend told the coach, you got the job, but they won't pay your buyout. His reply, I'll handle the buyout.

Remember this folks, if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
