    I would care...

But I hope what we've seen the past 3 years; the downward trend in offensive production that culminated in total epic failure this past Monday, is/was due to our less than optimal QB choices.

I can't help but look at our offense pre '08. Miles had been the man in charge for a few years, had quality QB's in JaMarcus and Flynn. They had a better WR group as a whole, as much as I think the world of Jacob Hester/Scott/Keiland combo, I honestly believe we may be better off right now with our current quartet of Ware/Ford/Hilliard/Blue.

Our running game was basically used the same as it is now minus the read-option plays. Hester lined up either as a single back or behind run-blocking dynamo, Quinn Johnson and Miles played smashmouth with those guys the same way Ware/Hilliard attack defenses today.

Keiland was a lesser version of how we use Ford: on tosses, option runs, etc.

The difference? We had a QB that had a quick release and a firm grasp of the offense and the ability to read the defense, stand tall in the pocket, yet agile enough to avoid the rush and did not hesitate when they did have to run. Both JaMarcus and Flynn were light years ahead of both Lee and JJ. Lee has the quicker release. JJ the better runner. But Lee turtles in the face of pressure and collapses when his pocket starts to. JJ, when he decides to run, actually, unbelievably, still looks indecisive when he's running so long as there are defenders ahead of him. When the field is wide open, he's running full speed. When defenders are in his vision--even 15-25 yards downfield, he's running all "sloutched" over as if he's just trying to convience his body to stay upright because it's looking to just slide to the ground.

Anyhow. My point is that both Flynn and JaMarcus had enough talent, brains, accuracy and guts to keep the defense respecting the pass and to NOT over-load stopping the run.

With either Lee or JJ, the defense would just load the LOS and attack them both the same way...but for different reasons. With Lee, get close to him and he'll just kneel....with JJ, it's DARE him to beat you one-on-one in press coverage....and he can't.

Now, I don't know how close to those previous QB's Kiel or Mett will be--and neither does anyone else just yet...but I hope that if they are anything closer to Flynn and JaMarcus, and hopefully NOTHING like Lee and JJ, then we might finally start seeing our offensive numbers start trending back upwards.

Keep in mind, no matter who our starting QB is next season, success won't happen over night. Results might not be so positive right out of the gate either, but I expect it to be better nonetheless.

He's been really good for LSU football, but his in-game management, play calling and lack of development of QBs has got to be fixed or well be forever a #2-#5 team. Some fans are ok with that. I personally watch LSU football to see us win championships. I will hold my judgement for another two years. Get back with me after the 2013 season.

    I'd care.

Sure, I'm still sulking now, but....

He's 75-18 in a conference that's produced the National Champion 6 years in a row.

5 of his losses have come against the team that won the BCSNC that year.

10 of his losses came against teams ranked in the Top 10 at the time.

    That's pretty damn strong.

    Luckiest Coach in America!

Here is what happened when I saw "Little Nickie" drop his mouth wide open!! Check the link and appreciate; there will be more to follow!!

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. LSU Tigers - Recap - November 06, 2010 - ESPN

It can happen to anyone at any time; coaches too! Les has won many, when he was counted out, even when he thought he had more time on the clock; "LUCKIEST COACH IN AMERICA"!!! Records show that Les has Little Nickie's number!!!

Everyone is human and not perfect and I and his players accept Les and his flaws; so I still like CLM.

I still see his pride in being the head coach at LSU, just as it was displayed, when I first viewed him in the Grey Mazda at the corner of N.Stadium Dr. and Nicholson, trying to get admittance, due to the armed guard road block for the Katrina victims in the Assembly Center on his first day on the job at LSU; he explained by saying, "I need to get through 'cause I'm the new head football coach" with a big grin! He was and is still beaming with pride and is doing all that he can to put LSU on top! Anyone that doesn't Like Les, doesn't know much about life, it's characters or a person "Les" living out his dream!

Bama and LSU were far and above everyone in the country this year, but Little Nickie was the Lucky one the last time!

I look forward to the next time that Les sends Little Nickie into a tantrum!!:geaux:

    I'm done! "Have a nice day"!!!!!!!:thumb:

    Oh the horror!!!!

You sound malcontent and never satisfied by saying 2-5, IMO. Now, had you said, 8-15....

It's just my opinion. Geez. I want to see the Tigers win championships. That is the level this program is capable of. Being content for 2nd best is selling ourselves short. Again, IMO. Letting Les go at this point would be "cutting your nose off despite your face" so to speak. Bill Cowher was a consistant contender for the Steelers. He eventually broke through and won it all. One championship in 15 years compared to 4 by the previous coach and 2 by his successor. Not saying he wasn't a great coach. Just that maybe more could be accomplished. I don't know. I'm not the AD. I couldn't make those kinds of decisions. I think at some point his game mgmt has to get better at some point to maximize our potential, We can win multiple championships under Les. He's gotta get better as a coach, though.

I would be very disappointed if we lost Coach Miles. We are spoiled.

Yes, we are. The offense not showing up at all the other night has just dampened everyones sentiments. I could handle the loss better if we had just made some sort of run, or been more competitive offensively, or just showed some sort of fight. Having said that, you are right, we are definitely spoiled. We became #1 in September and held onto that all the way til the last game, beating 8 ranked teams along the way and winning the SECCG. Don't remember many other LSU teams coming close to that, and we want a different coach? Spoiled is the right word. Managing expectations is a generational problem in this country right now.

Miles isn't going anywhere anytime soon, regardless of all the idiotic sh*t going around, the negatigers wanting his job. Get real, people.

No coach is perfect, not even one who goes 13-0. So he lost a title game, big deal. It's over and time to move on. The man's record speaks for itself. No other motherfr's on this forum could do what he's done. How many coaches have lost title games and went on to KEEP their jobs?
