I didn't think so. I knew it would be easier to ask one of you dinosaurs than to try to internet research something like that. Lol. Thanks. I don't have kids or grand kids, but if I did I could hopefully tell them about a mythical time when LSU was unranked and both MS schools shared the #3 spot in the polls and they'd laugh at me as being a senile old coot because such a thing just isn't believable. Unprecedented times we live in. The last time we lost to both in the same season was '99. I clearly remember that horrible season where our only conference win was against Arkansas in the last game of the season after DiNardo had been run out of town. The last game befoe Saban was hired. I hope we don't repeat that again.
Hal Hunter was the interim coach for that Arkansas game after DiNardo was fired. He is still undefeated as a head coach. BRING BACK HAL HUNTER!
About the same time for me. I do remember the Ole Miss game being the biggest rival game in the late 50's & 60's. "Go to Hell Ole Miss" started in September and only ended after the game. I never remember State being that good even when we were bad.
I recall an obscure Tiger running back returning a punt for a TD against the Rebs on a Halloween night to give the Tigers the W. What most folks don't know or don't remember is a lot of players played O & D in those days. The Rebs had the ball inside our 5 as time was running out. Cannon made a hell of stop on 4th down to ensure the Tigers victory.
You're not lying. I was stranded in Birmingham back in Dec/Jan during their snowmageddon this year... Spent my time scratching LSU all over Birm/Tuscaloosa since there wasn't shit else to do. I was completely decked out in P&G and was screaming GEAUX TIGERS out of the car window, they thought I was fuckin crazy, not a single roll tide back. I was kinda disappointed. Here's a pic of one of the many I scratched all over Bama.
