Serious question for old time Tiger fans

I know some here are much older than I am. I've been through some tough times (I attended LSU during the Archer/Halman era) and have been up and down with the Tigers.

Has anyone ever been in a position of looking up at BOTH teams from Mississippi at once at any time in their years following LSU?

 

It as always will be short lived. I said before, this was Dan Mullens "Perfect Storm." Lots of 5th year Srs. They go back to being the runts next year. If Dan is gonna make his move, this is his year. Last year, he was out had he not won the Egg Bowl. Now, does he stay around and wait to get fired again, or get out while hes a hot coach? Or wait to get on the "Hot Seat?" A loss of a bunch of Srs and Prescott goes out early, not much left, they go back to the pack.

I know this, if we would have had 1 min. more on the clock, LSU wins that game. How would this season look now?

 

I started following the Tigers at the end of the Dietzel era and attended LSU when Charlie Mc was the coach, so I guess that qualifies me as an old timer.

I can't remember a time where both Miss teams were in the Top 5 and we were looking up.

 

Same time frame here, been around a long time.

 

My money is on Mullen heading to Florida after Muschamp gets the boot this year. Hey maybe we can toss out the cheif and get Muschamp as D coordinator again.

I also agree, moo u and ole piss shouldn't get use to being on top of the pile. I don't think it is going to last. I could be wrong though.

 

Same here. Pretty sure they have never both been good in the same year. I heard a trivia question the other night: Q. When was the last time both Ole Miss and Mississippi State were both ranked in the Top 10? A. Never

 

With a great year I wouldn't be surprised to see a moving van in front of Hugh Freeze's house either

 

Yea that seems to be the big issue with MS teams they are (currently anyway) stepping stones to greener pastures. I mean who wouldn't want to live in Starkville or Oxford.......oh wait never mind

 

Oxford is not really a bad place. Nice little town close to Memphis. Better place to live than Tuscaloosa.
