Bama was getting some early love from their "first gigantic win in 2012." That would actually be January the 9th, actually.
I really wish we had played Okie State....especially considering the outcome. But...that dark night in January, the two best teams in the nation were on the field and that night, the best team won. This wasn't one of those "mythical" national championships...it was a beyond the shadow of a doubt one. I just wish we could have taken another month off and played them "best two out of three".
Well, my official position is... 1) in years that it favors LSU, I'm all for the BCS formula. 2) all other years, I'm for the playoffs.
That would be a do over of a do over. Remember Okie lite's promise if elected: "We will pass 50 times." Weeden would still be in physical rehabilitation. Alas, new teams, new players, new energy.
Making comparisons of what happened in this weeks poll versus polls after week one in past years is not comparing apples to apples. The pre-season polls have never been as close as they were this year in years past. Remember, last week there were only 15 points separating #1 and #3 in the Coaches poll. And, if you look at the first place votes you had one team with 18, one with 19, and one with 20. If you want to look at the AP, there's still less than 100 points separating #1 from #3—less than four first place votes.
