Hell if the Congress was choosing the National Champion we would have a split title every year -- the title would go to every single Division 1 team. Hell i think they might give it to some D2 teams, as well, because they can not make up their minds.
Honestly, right after I wrote my above responses, I remembered that USC and LSU split the NC in 2003. How did the President handle that situation? How did the Senate handle that situation? I'd love to know (but not enough to waste the time researching it, which would take me a while). The reason is because I'm pretty certain that the President called both USC's Pete Carroll and LSU's Nick Saban to congratulate each of them on their 2003 National Championship. But I am curious to know if both teams got invited to the White House for a an honorary dinner. And I am curious to know if any Congressional resolutions were approved vis-a-vis honoring USC or LSU for their 2003 National Championship. 2003 was the first time the AP Poll and Coaches Poll granted a split title since 1997 (Michigan and Nebraska), and only the 5th time that has happened in the last quarter Century. Would have made for an interesting situation.
I don't remember. I think that both teams were invited to the White House. http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me...use.Congratulates.Football.Team-2049178.shtml Both teams were at the White House at the same time.
Both teams were there and Bush suggested a game on the White House lawn to settle it. Not sure about a resolution that year but I do rememeber Florida Senators doing the same thing last year.
Here is the exact wording of the resolution: http://www.kalb.com/index.php/news/...es-resolution-commending-the-lsu-tigers/2886/
In other words, this resolution was shorter than most of John's posts here. And just like congress, he rebuts someone's no-rebuttal.
Isn't Vitter the one who was caught when some DC Madame released the names of people who visited her brothel? Or am I confusing him with someone else
