That's pretty funny! Nowadays that's probably true. But #7 should have gone to Greedy, if O had continued it. Instead, he gave it to a Juco transfer Wwenobody really knows. So IMO, it's been discontinued..
Pedo is gone now, and the beaver coach just retired,.. I hope the stink doesn't linger long. @uscvball shut down all argument a while back,.. the NCAA determines what a sport is not us, and the fact is,.. the Pac12 has won more NCAA National Team Championships than any other conference, many many more, it's not even close. Pac football has stunk it up lately though, I'll give you that. Think the Tigers beat Auburn on Saturday?.. I kinda think so, wish the game was at LSU though.
I'm only talking about the 3 major sports. SEC and Pac are tied in hoops, 11-11, all of the PAC's being UCLA. Pac has a slight edge in CWS titles thanks to USC's 11. But face it, football is what people are more passionate and fanatical about.
Oregon won the very first NCAA Basketball Championship. I know, but,.. the Pac can rightly claim to be the "Conference of Champions", (this conversation's origin), because the facts support it. "This year’s championships add to an impressive tradition for the Pac-12. With 469 total titles, Conference teams have, by far, claimed the most national championships in the country all-time, over 200 more than the next closest league (Big Ten - 266). Only three institutions across all divisions have won at least 100 NCAA titles all-time and all three are Pac-12 members.".... this was from a 2014 article, I found little current #s, except the Pac now has 519 titles. "For the 13th year in a row and the 17th time in the last 18 years, the Pac-12 leads the nation with the most NCAA Championships won in 2017-18,.. For the fourth-consecutive year, and fifth time in six years, the “Conference of Champions®” has collected double-digit NCAA titles. No other conference has ever reached double digits in an academic year,.. with 12 National Championships, the Pac-12 more than doubled the next-closest conference in 2017-18 with the ACC and SEC tying for second with five each, followed by the Big 12’s three. I made the initial statement and I wasn't talking about passion, I was talking about NCAA National Team Championships, thus, I'm right, you're wrong. The SEC, rules football, and is a dominating presence in basketball, baseball, and is right up there in track, maybe other sports too,.. now lets stop this. I want to hear your thoughts about Auburn.
When is the last time you went to an Oregon volleyball, water polo or racketball game or even watched one on TV? I watched Auburn against Washington. Very good defense. We need to be a lot better to move the chains. Our defense will do well against their offense.
Friday night, in women's volleyball, #17 Ducks defeated #1 Minnesota, I wanta see the replay,.. we don't have, nor would I care about the other stuff. Racquetball is not an NCAA team sport. I think I've always understood the gist of your thinking, buddy,.. "Conference of Champions", grinds your gears, now multiply that by five and that's how I feel about the "SEC chant",.. after seven years here, I've become an LSU fan, but the rest of the SEC can kiss my ass. I'm worried about Joe's poise now,.. he looked so good at times vs Miami, but Auburn's crowd will be going nuts. Cole just might be the secret weapon.
Same here...sometimes he looks like he is the second coming of Joe Montana and then....I'm chalking it up to not enough time yet with the team.
Conference of Champions sounds like a bunch of malarkey, but so does “it just means more.” They’re both dumb branding; most colleges seem to suck at catch phrases. LSU’s commercial... another disappointment. AU vs LSU should be a war, but with so many fresh faces contributing to the Frankenstein monster O has put together, nerves might cause some issues. Hell, our guys might have been more intimidated by our home crowd than they were Jerry-world and a national audience. Whatever the case, leadership is needed going into AU. If our heads aren’t on straight it could get ugly.
yeah, you're right,.. I liked hearing Keith Jackson say it though. I think that's a good point. Need to research the players or something, I don't know what to expect Saturday, except on defense. They said Cole kicked some 60+ FGs in practice last week, one 64 yards.
