Yesterday morning was the only time the site was down for me. It's been running fine since lunch time yesterday.

thanks for the info gradin99.I didn't get to read his post because I couldn't load.I can sort of do things today, but it is really bad compared to other sites.I'm sure enough contributions are coming in to at least make the site "usable"before too long.Anyways,my post said see ya'll later, not I'm gone for good like some took it.I'll be around, and hopefully brett can get things back to normal real soon.

    Yes, this is true.

And of course we all remember what happened the minute WVU threw the 4th down pass incomplete and we started to realize we had a legit shot at playing for the national championship (OU just went up by 14 over Mizzou). The system almost came crashing down, making it virtually impossible to post without losing your sanity.

But since that point, the performance of this website has definitely degraded. Not to the point where you can't post, it's just annoying having to wait, as we never had to before.

And it's not because of more lurkers, you go look at the number of users online at any one time and it's not more than its pretty much been over the past 3 years. I think the service we're using has some kind of issue regarding performance. I don't think we even need more bandwidth, it's just something funky on their end.

I think dial up freed up over the years as many are using DSL or cable any more.

I agree it is not the fault of TF and pretty sure it is the host. My point about dial up was back in the day before cable, everyone was using dial up and the more that used it the worse it was to get around. Photos loading at a line a second. Hell, maybe dial up is the place to be any more! :thumb:
