Due to an increase in traffic and issues that I believe are related to our host, the site has performed at an unacceptable level lately. Our host claims there is nothing wrong on their side of the issue and don't seem to care to offer much more assistance. I've had very good service and performance from them since we started TigerForums but it's clear it's time to move on to another host. I've been working on moving the site for a few days now but it is no small task considering I only have the evenings and late nights after working all day. Add in two small children that have about 2 hours to see their dad in the evening, and it doesn't make it any easier. I'm left working hours late into the night trying to keep our existing site up and make arrangements for a massive website move to a new host. I'm not looking for pity I just want you all to know I'm absolutely busting my ass to keep TigerForums.com running right now AND make a big upgrade for the future. Yea, the old servers been taxed here lately. I haven't had too much trouble myself. But from time to time everything just "stops". This seems to have happened since the Tigers got into the NCG. Everybody and their sister has jumped on the LSU bandwagon and with that, the forum! Hang in there Bro...it'll get better about a week after the NCG. I am having a lot of trouble. Takes a noticable amount of time to go from page to page on the site. What is the problem? Is it being addressed? Sorry if the questions are redundant, but I have been out of pocket lately. Geaux Tig's
I have not had any trouble. My ability to use the site without difficulty or delays may stem from the fact tat I use a Mac. I have noticed several sites pose issues that slow PC's which my Macs seem to breeze through. As to bandwagons: I lurked for a couple of months after I first discovered this site this September (I don't know how long it has been up, but I only used The Advocate and several general college sports boards) but got fed up and really came out of lurking to challenge the viewpoint that Miles was a bad coach. This view intensified after Arkansas and it strikes me as a HUGE failure to appreciate how difficult it is to do what LSU has done over the last 8-9 years. So I am a newbie but I am jumping on no bandwagon -- I and 8000 other people watched the last seconds of LSU v. Miss St in either 82 or 84 when it was not even 40 degrees with a freezing downpour. If you are a real tiger you never leave the pack to fend for itself. I cheered through the DiNardo and Curly shows. I was supportive when things were sinking with Archer. Heck, I still think we fired Stovall pre-maturely and Arnsparger came into a situation with great talent available even though he was the one who had enormous success and set us up for future success that Archer squandered. I haven't signed up as a contributor yet, but aim to after some things in my life get more settled this coming spring.
