Here is the quote from Miles on his plan for the secondary against the speed of UF, do you guys agree.

On if he’s concerned how his secondary will hold up against Florida…
“I think we’ll take a little bit more of a conservative approach in the secondary than we have done in the past and maybe be a little bit more zone. It will always be a mix in how we attack them. We feel like in the off week and the time that we’ve had to prepare, our guys are kind of looking forward to playing better.”

What do we have to do to win this game in the secondary. I think this is the key, along with the penetration by our D-line.

Seems like the zone is what's gotten us into trouble in recent games. Or am I mistaken? With a speedy defense like ours, isn't man a better option?

Very positive outlook. Nobody prepares with extra time better then the hat. Some teams geaux straight to hell after a bye week, give :milesmic: an extra week to make improvements and produce guys that want to illustrate those improvements, you best get ready for a show. The second half is ours for the taking.

Man to Man on the corners with a 2 safety look. 1 over the top and one in the middle of the field. Is what I would do against their speed. Saftey in the middle can provide run coverage and backs out of the backfield. Or he could blitz to help the D-line. Its alot Miles could do, which I expect him to give alot of different looks. But going strictly to a zone is a mistake.

I am thinking Les is playing it somewhat close to the vest and using coach speak. I don't think he is going to give too much of his Game plan away for UM to try and disect. Just a thought

Ole Piss did a good job on pass D against the Gators and they were mostly manning up. I can't believe their defensive backfield is any better than ours.:dis:

IMO, zone may be the best way to defend Harvin. We can't count on the turnovers that saved Ole Miss' defense.

The key will be DLine pressure mixed with blitzes.

I have often wondered about this. Why not just say you are going to do something different, even if you are not. Then the other coach has to make plans for your new plans, unless he thinks that you are just saying that in order to get him to waste prep time on your new plan that you don't intend to use, in which case he will plan on...

    oh forget it.

I agree completely. Pass D starts with the Dline.
