Should the best 2 teams in the SEC play the game? The way it is now LSU would play the 4th best team in the SEC. IMO they should scrap the game until each conference and team has a chance to play a CCG. Seems like the game is only about money. In that case would LSU have to play Bama three times?
huh? How in the hell do you think you answered a question that made no sense? Follow me: Title..."SECCG" Fang: Should the two best teams in the SEC play the game? Fang: The way it is now LSU would play the 4th best team in the SEC. (He's talking about the SECCG game here...or his syntax it terrible but hold on, not done). Fang: IMO they should scrap the game until each conference and team has a chance to play a CCG.(Scraping the game FOR "the game"?? ).
The game is east against west, not the two best teams per say and having a championship game usually serves us well at the end of the season. It can be the diffrence maker in the BCS ranking to have a quality game at the back end of the season. Unless it's a rematch. If I remember correctly, we actually lost strength of schedule points the second time we played Georgia in 03.
You got me tiga..kind of. I was answering his question (what I think his question was) regarding the SEC championship game. I think he was trying to say that the 2 best teams should play, rather than the winner of each division.
Is this the chicken and the egg argument? To be the SEC champion, you FIRST have to win your division. Then you get a shot at the title.
How can the Super Bowl be the championship game if the two best teams aren't playing?!! Because it is. That's sports. The best team in the East plays the best team in the West. The Phillies and Yankees were arguably the best two teams in baseball this year and neither one played in the World Series. You can't do away with every playoff and/or championship format because an lesser team occasionally spoils the party. I propose we do away with March Madness and just let the two best teams (totally subjective by the way) play for the championship. I'm guessing people would immediately stop watching sports.
That's how it works now. I get that. However what is to be proven by LSU whipping up on the forth best team in the SEC? Get rid of the game or play the two best teams in the SEC.
