I don't see the number of teams increasing past 4 anytime soon. Expand and w/a conf championship game you could be looking at a 16 game season.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_rankings Am I missing something? Weeks 15 and 16 have USC #1.
And then the Conference Championships happened, and changed it all. Still not sure how Chokelahoma made in to the BCS'ship that season after KSU whooped their ass.
Look at 2007. NO team with 2 losses NOT from the SEC would be in the NC game. In 2003 USC had 1, ONE triple OT loss on the road and we were not in the final.
Are you talking about the meaningless AP poll or the BCS poll? Because I don't see them ranked #1 at anytime in the BCS.
No no sista, can't agree with you on that one. We WON that game so we weren't the ones out of place. PLUS we had the best resume, period. Check out how many ranked teams we beat that year- final poll. More than any other team. *sticking tongue at Song Girl*
I don't disagree. The BCS just set off with an uneven distribution of credit for components not shared by all conferences. Is that the fault of the SEC? Of course not but it didn't yield the best match ups and the ensuing pre-season rankings.
Yeah she's talking about the one that's stood the test of time. You know, the one we used before the BCS and still use today.
