For my work I drive quite a bit, and this am I was thinking. Yea we are in a rebuilding year (it still pains me to say that because it seems like a cop out) but in what other conference or division has the teams stacked that the west has? If we sit back and think about it (I'll be the first to admit I need to step back and look at the season without the P&G glasses sometimes) it might not be as bad as we all think. Are we a horrible team like announcers, talking heads, and the "all knowing football gurus" claim? I would venture to say not no but hell no. We are a very very young team playing in not only the toughest conference but the toughest division in the toughest conceded by far. The more I thought to my self on the drive in to work, the more I thought we are in the middle of a perfect storm setting. We are down and there are other teams who are fielding the some of the best teams that they have fielded in years (if not ever). We are in a meat grinder and we are just going to have to hold our own.

Trying to stay positive but I think if we can get a couple more wins and get a bowl game the experience will be priceless for our kids. Next year and the year after could be special. Let's face it the SEC west is upside down this year and I personally don't see it staying that way for long. I see Prescott going and Mullen moving on. Also ole piss may be looking for a replacement as well, after he leaves. Who knows but I still say put us in any other conference and we are still dangerous.

No truer words, looking at the roster. We have 31 players that are True or Red-Shirt Freshmen, we have 19 Soph on this roster. This is by far the youngest team Les has fielded at LSU. We only returned 43 lettermen, Ole Mrs returned 60, an many 5th yr Srs. MooU returned 57 (8 starters on both sides of the ball). This team is getting better each game, the kids are growing up.

4 True Freshmen have started games this year.

Crazy that we're in mid Oct and the West hasn't lost yet (except to other West teams).

If Arkansas can pull the upset against UGA and our Tigers hold serve at home, the West could make it through the next few weeks also as they will be favored in most (if not all).

I would think our special team is two seasons away . That is if we can keep our players in the SEC West and not in the pros . Remember the players who by-passed to stay at LSU and win a what ?? That is the type of players we need ,to have that "SPECIAL TEAM "

    GEAUX TIGERS !!!

I think we only might be one year away. Remember prescott and marshall wont be here. Likely moo u and ole piss might be looking for replacement coaches. West could be wide open next year. Experience this year for all of our young players is paramount.

I don't think Freeze will leave since he is coaching in the SEC and was born in Oxford.

Money talks. I don't think Ole Miss will pay him as much as a Florida or a Michigan if he wins the SEC or the National Championship. And Ole Miss doesn't have nearly the facilities as some of the long time football powers

I don't know man. I'm starting to think that the SEC's brand all alone is good enough to turn any SEC school that wants to spend the $ into a national contender. A&M was an annual Big 12 cellar dweller, and they join the SEC and start forking out dough and they have at some point in each season since been in the mix.

Ole Miss has money if they choose to spend it. Freeze for some reason strikes me as a loyal kind of guy that would take a little less to stay home. But you are right, in most cases money talks...
