Is there any chance we make it? What scenarios have to happen for us to get back to Hoover? (I can't believe I just typed that...Defending National Champions HOPING to be one of the top 8 teams....IN THEIR CONFERENCE!!!)
I don't want us to make it....I'm ready for this bad dream to end. This team has gone haywire...and it ain't no coming back from it. :nope:
At this point, we're tied with Kentucky. We are probably in if we win 2 out of 3 against Mississippi State, but I'm not sure we will. Can't believe the run of luck this team has had.
likewise. and this is coming from a very big baseball fan. i don't want to watch any more of this team. the players gave up a long time ago. after this weekend, so did i.
LSU has to match whatever the winner of the Bama@UT series does to stay in 8th place and/or finish 1 game better than UK in their series (@UGA). UK LSU UT Bama All tied at 12-15
I would like to see the team end the season on some positive note, but at this point I'm not sure what that would be. ldskule:
Well, this season can be considered a colossal meltdown. Baseball is such a cerebral game and clubhouse chemistry and mindset are so important to the success of a team. This team, appears right now to have lost all team chemistry and the mindset is lack of any faith in their abilities. The entire game hinges on pitching and batting, and right now we have lost all ability to do either. I mentioned this before, in pitching the pitcher can get up on the mound and have the strike zone look the size of a shoebox and no matter what he is dead on in that shoebox, or the pitcher looks at the plate and sees the strike zone at the size of a big screen tv and pitches the ball all over the place. Our pitching is looking at big screen tv’s right now. As for batting, you can get in the box and no matter what is thrown at you the ball looks like it is the size of a basketball and moving in slow motion. No matter how you swing you hit the ball rock solid and it goes where ever you want. Or, the ball is the size of a pea moving at the speed of light and your just swinging hoping to hit the thing. We are seeing peas right now. From there everything else just either falls perfectly into place and you can do no wrong, or no matter what you do it all seems to fall apart. For us, it has all fallen apart. Not sure where it all started, but I look back to the Bama series when Ott had to go 7 innings to close out the game, from there his arm fell off. I also, look to when Ranaudo took the ball in the leg, from there his confidence on the mound has seemed shaky. With our lack in pitching depth, having our 2 best pitchers go into the tank it just seems the rest of the team has followed. Having it start with the confidence shaken by our 2 best pitchers then the rest of the team losing all confidence from that point on. The good thing is all of this is fixable. The bad thing is who knows when the team will snap out of it. I think this season is shot, and all we Tiger fans can do is hope that the offseason brings our team back to where their talent says they should be. I ain’t mad, I ain’t upset, I’m just disappointed. With the team having just come off the National Championship run, then starting off 32-6, the season was looking like a strong chance to make another run at it. Unfortunately, from that point on the wheels have fallen off, and this season is in the tank. God Bless our boys and the efforts that they put out there every week. I hope for a better yr next season. They deserve it.
good post, but i can't rep you until i "spread it around." so this season will basically come down to.... LSU being able to win a couple of games. how fitting. i think this team still gets shoved somewhere for a regional even if they don't qualify for the tourney -- deserving or not, we're the defending champs. as much as i would like to just see this nightmare end, i'll never give up on this team, as much as i would like to right now. :hihi:
Yes. Ironically, LSU will essentially need to win 2 games this weekend (unless there are some rain-outs). That doesn't sound terribly hard at first glance, but that is more SEC wins than LSU has had in the past 4 weekends. In the past 4 weeks, LSU is 1-11 in SEC games, and MSU is 0-12. Sadly, this is a good match-up.
