Would you people here respect and give your approval of RP if he came out and beat the dog s h i t out of Tennessee in the SECCG and would you want him to start in the bowl game if this came about?

Cause the consensus here is that most people dont like him due to the fact that he has behavorial problems. Which I agree he does, I know some of his family and its pretty normal thing in that family to act certain ways.

I like the kid, I just wish he would grow up and live up to this potential.

Not a problem but I still don't think he is ready to take over. If Flynn can't go then we have no choice but it is still Matt's job.

The only people that don't like RP are judgmental not-so-smarts that like to base their opinions on partial information. They're typically pre-disposed to not liking players that aren't milktoast replicas of middle aged crackers.

The job is of course Flynn's to lose, but as the first half of almost every game this year has shown, he has to do a whole helluva lot to lose it.

Im almost inclined to agree with you. However, he does have a behavorial problem, so thats a big strike against him. Regardless of how Flynn has done this season, which has been mediocre and now you can compare him to J Russel cause we have 2 letdowns this season.

Can he play Football? You bet, but I don't think we should depend on anyone who has shown a propensity for getting into trouble. It's not good enough to not be guilty; when you are a focal point of a team (like a quarterback is) you have to be a leader. RP has shown that leads to trouble. You have to be above scrutiny, he has not shown he can do that. Once he does... then he will have my support. :geaux:

I like him as a QB.. He's got super talent and is quite an exciting player. I can't wait to see what he can do with the team next season. I just hope he can keep his act together because if he does, the world (or at least Baton Rouge) is his for the taking.

Of course I would be happy if RP comes in and wins the game Saturday but to gain respect he has to show improvement with his behavioral patterns. I have never disliked Perriloux but have been very disappointed that he has been suspended from the team twice and is obviously pretty deep in Miles dog house. Since the Bama suspension he has zero meaningful playing time. He should have been put in against arky but was never considered until it seemed Flynn may not be able to go.

Using the work "like" with Perriloux is not the right word. I think almost all LSU fans would agree that he has had a pattern of bad behavior but that doesn't translate into not liking a guy. He's a Tiger, I still liked Cecil even when he was at his worst. It didnt stop me from being disappointed in his judgment and representation of LSU and those are more appropriate terms to use when assessing feelings about Perriloux.

What has Perrilloux shown that he would be much better? He can pitch out better? Sure as hell can't pass against an SEC defense. He showed that with that lob almost intercepted pass against Florida.

Has Flynn had issues? Yes he has but he is a leader and tends to hang in there and not get rattled. He has also had receiver issues that he had no control over. He got the job done and has 10 wins this season...something only 3 other qb's in LSU's history has done.

Valid point. However, the sample size for evaluating RP's ability to throw is shockingly small. And I don't buy the concern that he'll turn it over, since Flynn is a veritable turnover machine in the first half. It's laughable that the basis for thinking RP can't pass is one or two bad throws, when the same results have come from Flynn when he's in a funk on a pretty consistent basis.

Can RP pass against the SEC defenses? I genuinely don't know, but I do know it's not going to be worse than the QB option that's throwing it to defenders or having accuracy problems for whatever reason in the first half.

I admire Flynn's toughness and poise a lot, especially down the stretch. That doesn't mean that I think he should get all snaps, regardless of his performance or the defensive schemes in front of them.

i wasnt going to reply to a post you had earlier, cause generally you seem to have a strong bias against RP or players of his hue (reluctant to say). But I do believe his arm was hit or the ball was tip on the throw during that game. But why would you state the whole story, that wouldnt be like you.

My question is whether he deserves the respect and could he be a factor in the bowl game. Flynn has had some great times and some bad times. He saved alot of games with his running ability alone.
