Yes, yes, I know that stats this early are highly skewed, but it's time to start tracking our performance versus other SEC teams. Stats are not a predictor of success or failure, but they do give indications of where we are strong and weak.

    Total Offense = Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #9 ( up from 11)
    Scoring Offense = Kentucky #1 . . . LSU # 11
    Passing Offense = Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #12 (down from 11)
    Rushing Offense = Auburn #1 . . . LSU #3 (up from 11)

    Total Defense = Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #5 (up from 12)
    Scoring Defense = Alabama #1 . . . LSU # 7 (up from 10)
    Passing Defense = Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #11 (up from 12)
Rushing Defense = LSU #1 (up from #3)

    Punt Returns = LSU #1
    Kick Returns = Florida #1 . . . LSU #2 (up from #3)
    Punt defense = Florida #1 . . . LSU #5
    Kick defense = Tennessee #1 . . . LSU #2 (up from 4)

    Fumbles Lost = Kentucky #1 . . . LSU #12
    Fumbles recovered = LSU #1
    Sacks = LSU #1
Tackles for Loss = LSU #1
    Turnover margin = Florida #1 . . . LSU #9

    Interesting:
    1. We still lead the conference in both fumbles lost and fumbles recovered.
    2. We still lead the conference in both sacks and tackles behind the line.
    3. We moved up in every category except passing offense, where we are dead last.

So . . . who will be the first to not even read this and post that stats are meaningless.

The one that stands out meaningless to me is Arkansas being #1 in total defense.

Think they should play someone with at least JUCO level talent first.

    Stats are awesome.

And those stats are ugly based on who we played in the first 2 games.

We played a ranked team and a conference opponent. Arkansas has played FBS Tennessee Tech and a sh*thouse directional school in UL Monroe. I'd say based on who we played and based on who some other teams have played, that's about right.

I like that we're up there in rushing offense and at the top in rushing D. As the old cliche goes, "if you can run the ball, and stop the run..."

I know, at least for right now, our conference is what matters but when you look at where we are Nationally it puts it in a different perspective.

Where LSU ranks in the following:

    #76 in total offense
    #64 in scoring offense
    #107 in passing offense
    #28 in rushing offense

    #33 in total defense
    #24 in scoring defense
    #35 in pass defense
    #4 in rushing defense
