In week four we are starting to see some trends. Offense is sliding to the bottom. Defense is rising towards the top. Special teams rule.

    Total Offense = Alabama #1 . . . LSU #11 ( down from 10)
    Scoring Offense = Alabama #1 . . . LSU # 9 (down from 8)
    Passing Offense = Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #12 for the 4th straight week . . .
    Rushing Offense = Auburn #1 . . . LSU #5 (down from 4)

    Total Defense = LSU #1 . . . replacing Alabama
    Scoring Defense = Alabama #1 . . . LSU # 2 for the 2nd week
Passing Defense = Kentucky #1 . . . LSU #4 (up from 9) as the game one-4th quarter breakdowns get diluted.
    Rushing Defense = LSU #1 . . . replacing Carolina

Punt Returns = LSU #1 for the 4th week.
    Kick Returns = Alabama #1 . . . LSU #3 for the 2nd week.
    Punt defense = Vanderbilt #1 . . . LSU #5 (up from 8)
Kick defense = LSU #1 for the 2nd week

    Fumbles Lost = Kentucky #1 . . . LSU #10T
Fumbles recovered = LSU #1 for the 4th week
    Sacks =Arkansas #1 . . . LSU #4 (down from #3)
    Tackles for Loss = Auburn #1 . . . LSU #2 (down from #1)
    Turnover margin = Florida #1 . . . LSU #5 (up from #9)

Fix the offense and LSU is in a BCS bowl.

Thanks for posting this. It really does speak for itself.

It is unacceptable that LSU continues to perform so badly on offense with the talent they have at their disposal.

This isn't a one year aberration. This isn't the result of unlucky breaks. This is the result of extreme sub-par coaching that is inexcusable at this level.

completely agree. The O is the big issue. Not sure why the people in charge can't see that.

Les's stubborn ways may just well cost him his job, not this year, but certainly sooner rather than later if this continues. There has to be a point where something is done to remedy the situation.

Yeah i was talking about Les too, but you would think someone in the Offensive setup would look at the numbers and see that whatever they have schemed and planned is not working at all. It did not work last year either. Maybe it is time to try something else.

We're also #11 in penalties, only Arkansas is worse in the SEC. Nationally we're #79 in penalties.

Don't mean to cross up threads, but how is #79 in penalties not a coaching issue?

It can be a direct issue, like last year when we took so many delay penalties because the coaches got plays in late.

Indirectly coaches are responsible for players knowing the rules, of course. But you have to hold the players responsible for knowing the snap count, not hitting players 4 yards out of bounds, holding, roughing passers, and such. They have the prime responsibility not to commit these fouls. If they commit them persistently, then the coaches have to bench them.
