Twice as many fouls, as I said in my post, is a bit much. But there's a reason.

If you go back and look at it - LSU started getting into foul trouble halfway through the second half - after MSU starting pulling away.

Did you not see the out-of-control playing style of Bo and Chris Johnson and even Taz at times in the second half? Frustration was clear and evident and led to stupid and careless fouls.

You're taking this too personally IMO. You think LSU was a victim. I think LSU stunk up the joint and lost. It's no big deal.

    Chill, brother.

The path to beating LSU has been clearly marked by MSU and Auburn. Shut down MT. Abuse CJ and get him in foul trouble, and encourage him to take stupid 3-pointers.

    Even Achilles had a weakness.

We can agree to disagree here, CJ was in foul trouble long before the second half, I'm sure of that.
His shoes barely hit the floor.
Out of control, honestly, that isn't what I saw but then again I don't see every play all the time, 4 and 8 year old running around.

I'm only debating what I saw of this game and backing it up by the stats.
It is what it is, LSU didn't play any better or worse than MSU so I guess MSU stunk it up pretty bad also?

Call it what you will, this was a playoff type of game and once again it wasn't going to be pretty.
I would gladly give MSU the credit for this but how can you do that when their stats are almost identical to that of LSU and yet some say LSU stunk?
I have no problems at all with a loss its just that I would prefer with MSU earning it a little better on a more even playing field.
Yes, I'm trying to set the record straight and say LSU didn't play as badly as some fans think, its all in the stats.
Did MSU play better than LSU, the answer is certainly no.
    We can agree to disagree.

Anyone who says we stink must not want to give MSU credit either IMHO?
Like Sabanfan says the other team wants to win too, I think both teams played their hearts out and yes, I think the officiating was
the difference in this game, doesn't happen often but this was one of those times.

Well, those stats make your case stronger, but stats don't tell everything. Chris Johnson could not guard their big guy and we couldn't score around the basket - their big guy altered most of our shots close to the basket. Add to that a lot of our shots rattled out and the fact that Mississippi St played stiff defense, in addition to the penalty disparity, and you have a woodshed beating. Ok... maybe calling it Brady-esque is a bit of a stretch.

LSU definetely did not play as good as they had in previous SEC games and the refs did not help us out, but I think teams realize that we can not handle a big guy down below. CJ is not big enough to handle a Vanado. I just don't understand why LSU didn't drop into some sort of zone to make it harder to get those baskets underneath or everytime Varnado go the ball double down on him. Both teams were shooting horrible from outside, so a zone would have made it tough for MSU to pick up some of the easy points they got underneath and it would have helped us stay out of foul trouble. I think that could have made a difference in the game.

You know what? I agree. If the refs hadn't used Chris Johnson like a tent sock and caused Marcus Thornton to go O-fer from 3 point range, LSU would've won that game.

I think I might start thinking this way in every facet of my life.

Hell, I already feel better about my sub-six figure salary, since it's clearly all someone else's fault. Clearly, the man is keeping me down.

Awesome! I have been so blind!

this year. lsu vs. jackson st, grambling, norwestern, south carolina, miss st. of course several of the losses have over 20 fouls too. we all know that cj cant keep his feet on D. he fouls a lot. that is his fault and ctj's fault. hopefully it doesnt cost us a ncaa tourney game.

I didn't watch any of those games so I guess I missed that.
Anytime a team has 20 more fouls than the other seems somewhat suspect IMHO.
You guys could be right and for the record I'm picking Butler in my bracket.
I think this team has already peaked, end of story.
