If you haven't figured it out by now, I give up on you. Dude, Baton Rouge is at 20 feet and the highest point in Louisiana is just over 500 feet. Yes Oregon is a largely mountainous state, look at any elevation map. Your ignorance of climate is not my problem.

Note: I've lived in Oregon over 55 years, traveled 49 states both rural and urban areas, I have a reasonably good awareness of the weather and geography of this country. I've been traveling the country for business for almost 30 years.
The elevation of 53' is probably downtown, which sits on the natural river levee. The average elevation in BTR is around 30'. I'm a practicing civil engineer in the city, so I can say that with a pretty good degree of certainty. Not that it matters one bit. Oh, and if we really want to be specific, I designed the new track at LSU, which is directly across the street from Tiger Stadium. The elevation of the track is 23.75'.
Unfortunately, no; I've never been to Oregon. Although, the wife and I often talk about taking a trip to SF and driving up the coastal highway (Hwy 1?) through that area. Final destination would be Vancouver, BC.
That's a beautiful drive!! I've driven it several times. Rugged ocean views, mountains down to the beach, redwood forests....... BUT..... In the summer, when most people want to go (Note: Fall just after labor day can be great, less traffic and great weather), expect slow traffic and lots of RVs! It's a windy two lane road with passing lanes. To keep from getting a divorce (assuming you want to stay married) I'd only drive part of the coast because it would take you a couple days to drive from SF to Astoria OR. If you are a golfer and plan on playing some outstanding courses. You HAVE to go to Bandon and the Bandon Dune courses (Great ocean views from many parts the course). All four are ranked in the top 100 in the USA that you can play. Depending on the time of year you can do quite a bit of whale watching along the Oregon coast. Maybe be willing to keep an open mind and head inland to I-5 when you've had enough of the coast and the roads and summer tourist traffic. Just south of Florence OR, you'll find some of the largest if not the largest sand dunes in the USA. Lots of people go over there with there dune buggies. Lots of B&Bs that can be pretty cool places to stay. Sylvia Beach Hotel is really pretty fun if you like funky and a place to hole up and just read. It's rooms are decorated based on famous authors. The Rooms - Sylvia Beach Hotel I don't do Washington much, something about "Husky" territory that just keeps me south of the Columbia River. Plus they have sales tax up there. Shoot me an email if you want to go into this in more detail outside of the TigerFan boards. Hope this helps.
Hey Duck pulled this off net for ya I like the way this guy thinks !!! Dudes, John Chavis will have 20 beasts right at the edge of being penalized for sideline interference. He will rotate the guys up front at every change, 1 LB and 1 or 2 guys in the rear. LSU's defense will show its teeth to the nation, and Jordan Jefferson will have another huge game in Dallas. Oregon has no chance of stopping LSU's offense. Spencer Ware looks like BJGE to me, which is pettty freakin nasty for those of you who followed New England last year. If Oregon wins in front of 60,000 LSU fans, Cliff Harris, who would be on the bench at LSU, will be my avatar for the whole season.
Not sure who he is or what he might be. Most in BR are hoping to see big D show up in Big D. I know the Ducks will be ready and what a awesome game for both schools. If NFL is a no show this game is going to even be bigger. It will be the real big deal no matter what. I know you guys are quick and run things at a up scale pace. I can't wait to see if our base nickel gives you guys what I think it will. We are all fans waiting on football with only net nerd land to pass the time. Hope you and yours have a great summer and I hope we both get to see a great game. Geaux Tigers :miles::miles::miles:
