But then I would only have our pitiful team to complain about. I dont mind the Vern replacement so much or the retired rules official. Gary is literally getting worse. Call it old age or whatever. He gets more and more stuff wrong and has decided to compensate with hot takes and personal conclusions.
I don't mind Gary. I try to pay more attention to what I see on the field than what I hear from the booth.
Gary isn't quite as good as he once was, but he's still pretty darn good. He used to be a bit more willing to say what he sees, which I enjoy most from a broadcaster. Too often they just don't offer much analysis and toe the company line on calls and performances. I enjoy Gary still. I think Herbie, Blackledge, Gary and Klatt offer the best insights in college. Many don't like Klatt because he is a Big10 mouthpiece at times, but so is Gary on occasion so I just ignore that. I've grown to really enjoy Cole Cubelic and McElroy isn't bad.
unless espn buys them out. i don't think they will so i think we'll see gary for a while. at least uncle vern isn't on the sec broadcast anymore. so there's that...
No more SEC on CBS theme song. That is the saddest part. It is as iconic as the Star Wars theme to me. It sings Fall, Saturday, 2:30 PM, SEC. It sings LSU is about to take the field for the game of the week. It sings beer, queso, and a pre-game shot of tequila.
