"From a coaches standpoint and a peer standpoint, he was, and still is, one of the best technical coaches in the SEC," Odom said.

Said Donovan: "... I think he's a terrific coach and has done a terrific job at LSU."

I'm curious, what do you think? Are they lying? Are they just being loyal to a fellow coach? Or do they really think Brady is a great coach?

Great for them, not so great for us.
I'm sure Gene Stallings thought LSU should keep Curley Hallman.

exactly... Keep the weaker coach so it is easier for us to win. That is like asking a coach from a rival school to pick the next HC. Why don't the media ask these guys who they think LSU should hire. :thumb:

Bingo. It wasn't wins and losses. Brady was fired because he lost the fans just like Smoke did. It wasn't only inconsistant play, it was his angry attitude that did not endear him to fans or players, whom he ran off far too frequently. He inspired zero enthusiasm among the fans.

He always had an excuse and somebody else to blame for every loss. The last straw was his public criticism of the LSU football program last week. Bad timing coach, the football team just won a National Championship making you look foolish, vindictive, and petty. Skip pulled the plug before things got worse.

More often then not, if a coach comments about a coach that has just been fired it will be positive. I analogize's Brady's situation somewhat to what Houston Nutt had at Arkansas. Some kind of negative issue always seemed to pop up resulting in the fan base never really fully buying into him. Will Arky fans regret Nutt moving on ? We'll see. Will LSU fans regret that Brady got the axe ? I really don't think so.

They're in the public eye. Their respective universities and the university of the recently fired coach wouldn't let the coaches get away with saying something like "Yeah, that guy sucked."

I'm not surprised coaches take up for one another.
I don't care what others say about him being a coach but it is obvious he couldn't handle many situations at LSU including adapting his game plan to the talent on the court.

Whether or not you believe he is a good coach, the man was an embarassment to the university with his lack of class and character.
Good bye, there may be some hope yet for the mens team.
The men's LSU basketball team must always suck cause Sabanfan said so meanwhile the womens team is number 7.
There is your LSU basketball powerhouse year after year.

I don't remember any coach complimenting Brown, not even Bobby Knight. ;)
