I hear that argument, but usually off a national championship year, dropping that far down is NOT the norm. You could also argue that having a new coach in Randy Shannon and new offensive scheme at Florida State would inject some sense of unknown, although I do know that Miami is getting back hard to recruiting FL and doing well.

In any case, it struck me as odd that they only had 5, when it clearly was deviating from the trend of other SEC schools.

 

To add to what you've said, if you look at the top players in MS, they tend to attend school elsewhere. Their Mr. Football (award for top football player in HS) has been leaving for years.
