Well I'll be pulling for Georgia but won't be betting. I like Richt and think he's a class act. Further, they're in the SEC so we need them to win. Otherwise, I pull for Boise when they're not playing vs. SEC. I'm an LSU man first...conference man, second. Some would disagree with that and say it does us no good for teams we recruit against to win but I disagree in terms of the BCS rankings.
I think that Boise St will win that game. Too bad it’s at the same time as LSU/Oregon and I won’t get to watch it live. I typically pull for LSU 1st, If a SEC team is over-rated or any team for that matter is over-rated IMO, I want to see them get taken down a peg. I never mind watching Alabama get knocked off their pedestal, same goes for Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, Notre Dame, & Texas. I guess you can say that I typically pull for the underdogs, but realistically I just love good games. I don’t like watching blow outs, I love upset city, it’s what makes this sport so great. Its why college football is the best regular season, and college basketball has the best post-season.
Speaking of Georgia vs Boise state....you guys know that Georgia thought Kellen Moore had already graduated....right? Did Georgia Bulldogs Miscalculate Kellen Moore's Eligibility When Scheduling Boise State? The Georgia Bulldogs and Boise State Broncos are set to face-off in a huge season-opening matchup at the Georgia Dome. But had Georgia known Kellen Moore would be a senior this year, the blockbuster, made for TV game may not have happened. Georgia head coach Mark Richt appeared to joke with a radio show about a minor oversight concerning Moore's eligibility and when, exactly, it will expire, the Bulldogs will face the Heisman candidate. Here's what Richt had to say about how the game was scheduled and agreed upon. "[The athletic director] came to me with that and he was like, ‘Well, that quarterback's a senior and he's leaving.' I really didn't look at it. I knew that he had been there a long enough time that he was probably on the way out. After we signed on the dotted line, then I went and looked at the depth chart and realized he was still there. Then I was hoping he would turn pro early and he didn't do that." Not what I’m saying at all…the ones I did not list are bad opponents…they are the creampuffs that you schedule to get an easy win with minimal effort, basically a practice for the next week. And yes…UL-Monroe example should actually be classified as a creampuff taking out a top 25…but I couldn’t resist the jab.
You could set up multiple screens like I plan on doing…I thinking three screens, one on the left, one on the right, and the main game on the 42 inch in the center.
as others have iterated, yeah..we're on top of college football. that's obvious to anybody who can count. we don't need validation, the SEC is the class of college football and change doesn't seem imminent. but acting like we're the only conference that matters is foolish, especially since this is a new year and no games have been played yet.
Personally I don't think it's even close. I got SEC by a landslide, Big 10 (12) second, Pac 12 3rd, Big East 4th, and Big 12 (10) dead last. Sorry OU and Texas, having 2 teams in your conference doesn't legitimize you.
