I don't get the part about the WVU police. LSU fans are really tame and I think most WVU fans reported that they had a good experience here last year. Unless he's trying to say both schools party too hard, but I would think the fans would get along when drunk.
I doubt WVU fans are the root of that comment. " + pageTitle + " All fan bases have some bad eggs and right or wrong, ours has a bad reputation- as many others do.
That's fo schizzle....and our fan base screws OUR fans more than most: witness the rain of drinks splashing down on we lucky folk during all home games in the Student Section. Meh! Thank God for my LSU waterproof hoodie!
WVU fans are known for burning stuff and getting into trouble with the law after wins (maybe losses too). Mix in some LSU fans who will be bringing tons of alcohol and indeed, it does sound like a long night for their cops. Our fans are just obnoxious when drunk, theirs go beyond that.
I figure LSU and WVU would be like drinking buddies. There's no hatred between the schools like WVU has for VT or Pitt. They burn couches after big wins. Probably one of the funniest traditions in CFB. Passion-wise, they would fit in perfectly with the SEC. I still think LSU fans were... not tame, but... I don't really have a word for it. There's definitely a high level of excitement, but there's always going to be a few people that are bad when there's 100k in one spot and most are drinking. I never saw any fights, people getting arrested, or anything like that. For the most part people do a decent job of keeping the campus clean. As for the liquid throwing in the student section, it's never landed on me. Hard to do much about it since it's student on student, so it will take students to fix it.
They sent out the riot control in Blacksburg when we played Va Tech. A lot of the problem is Friday night when opposing schools campus bars or over run with LSU fans. Every bar around campus was chock full of Tiger fans. Got to the point where we had our fight song playing. Drunk undergrads got pissed, called their frat brothers etc to defend their honor. No one likes to get shown up on their own campus. Nothing ended up happening but the elements were there. When OOC fans come down to BR they are looking for a good time, football talk, tailgating etc. It is a small "enlightened" subset of their fanbase that is in the right frame of mind to mix in and have a good time. When LSU fans travel EVERYONE goes and we feel like we are the home team. Just imagine if 50,000 UWV fans had showed up for that game, behaved like they owned the place, had the attitude like the LSU/SEC was so inferior to them, and that the game was a charity case.
Ha, we certainly don't discriminate. Sad part is that the overwhelming majority of visitors have such a great experience and because the overwhelming majority of our fans love to entertain opposing fans and share food, drink, and a friendly "Tiger Bait". Like anything else, the few bad apples get most of the lip service.
Wow, guess I should have posted in this thread about the fans of West Vagina. They are the worst fans I have ever been around. They cheer when opposing players get injured, they try to start fights, and they are just classless as can be. Florida fans have nothing on WVU.
